Anonymous, 25 Jun 2020More stuff that does not even make sense. "How is it big... moreMy sister owns the S20 and I can assure you it is an extremely compact phone compared to my OnePlus 8 pro which has similar dimensions to the S20 plus and other Android flagships.

S20 footprint combined with One ui which is designed for one handed usage makes the phone easy to operate with one hand. It might be slightly taller but you never have to reach the top of the screen with one Ui. Width and thickness remain same as S10e.

If you aren't convinced yet, go into a Samsung showroom and handle the phone yourself.
Then come back and tell me if it's not compact.

    Bro, if it is taller, then it is less compact and bigger in overall size and footprint, what kind of question even is that?

    Because if something is taller, then it is less compact. Simple logic. A change in the aspect ratio won't make it fit in my pockets any easier, despite "one handed mode" where only part of the screen is being used.

    Looking at all the comments (not only here), asking for more compact devices, you seem to be terribly wrong. Also, you don't know anything about me or my hands. But if you want to insult me without any real point to make, that's fine.

    Now you are being ridiculous. I've never owned an Apple product in my life, but if Apple becomes the only smartphone manufacturer to release truly compact phones, that might be a reason to switch. All the phones I had in the past years were considered "normal size", but the current generation of phones has just become so ridiculously large it is absurd. My current Android phone from 2016 is 145mm tall, and frankly I wouldn't want it to be bigger.

          S10e: 142.2mm
          S10: 149.9mm -> S20: 151.7mm
          S10+: 157.6mm -> S20+: 161.9mm
          S20U: 166.9mm

          Every successor got a bit bigger, while the S10e didn't even get one and instead the Ultra line was invented. Pretty simple, pal.

          And just because gsmarena says it's compact doesn't mean it is in the eyes of everyone who wants a smaller phone. That's the reason why people get excited for a 5.4" iPhone.

            S20 is successor to S10e.

            Just look at dimensions and overall footprint pal.
            Besides, Gsmarena already said in their review that S20 is the best compact phone you can buy right now.

But Android OEMs will not release anything under 6 inches. Every phone has to be 6.67 precisely. Tired of shovels. Really want a 5.4. Badly.

                  Transition to usb-c , smaller noch or under display tech, add fingerprind in power button !
                  For me these changes are enough to make me move to ios.

                    S10e: 142mm
                    S20: 151mm

                    ~9mm of difference definately is more than just a little in the smartphone game.

                        Is like saying Note 10 is the successor of S9+ because it has the same dimension.

                        All Android fans were screaming for a small flagship device. But when the S10e came up, nobody bought it, lol. Or few people bought it. Because people who wanted a similar device and had the money, went for the S10 instead. Maybe because of the high price of the S10e..
                        That is the main reason Samsung never released a S20e version. S10e was considered not a good profit, because not so many people bought it.

                        But anyway, this goes to show you how people think. Everybody wants a perfect flagship small phone for 300EUR. Well, tough luck, welcome to 2020.

I am so done with the tablet sized phones. Rumours are iOS 14 will include Android features like an app drawer and widgets. Switching will be easier now.

                                      Given the fact that the Pixel 4a has probably been delayed until October, when the new iPhones will come out, the small 5.4" model might actually be a real competitor for me. All those big phablet sized monsters of phones you see in the Android corner without desireable smaller options just might make me switch to iOS, despite the bigger pricetag.

                                        In 2021 will appear some Android phones with displays from 5" to 6". Not necessarily flagship level, but up there in the upper mid-range category.
