        I like gaming.
10 years ago, I had ipod touch 2g, with 256 mb RAM, and it would play much better than SE Xperia Play which had 1 GB RAM.
Fast forward few years, I had ipod touch 5g, with 512 mb RAM, and it played much better than Samsung Galaxy S4, which had 2 GB RAM.
Then I made the switch , and got IPhone 7, which I have been using for 3 and a half years. Though i have kept using android, as I had Samsung A7, Nokia 6.1 plus, and now Redmi Note 8.

See the point here is not iOS vs android. It's individual preference, and based on ecosystem partly, and bias and budget largely. iOS is lot more SMOOTHER and STABLE compared to android with 4x RAM size. Period!

As far as functionality goes, android is definitely superior, no doubt about it. (Else i would have never persisted with it). But, the gap is not as huge as most fans claim. Eg, transferring file. I use $10 accessory which works as OTG expandable memory device with IPhone. Pretty sure, most will realize they never expected such a thing or function exist for iPhone. But there are lot more things which people believe doesn't exist for iOS, which ACTUALLY exists! You need to do your homework properly, rather than crying foul.

About more functions, It's not just apple which does marketing gimmicks, android is on the same boat. Many functionality which it claims to be revolutionary, were already present on Symbian S60v3 in mid-2000. I had used Nokia N95 and I have experienced that.

And about customization, there is so much uproar about it. I don't know about others, I rarely change themes and wallpapers. So, that's BIG FEATURE of android is vestigeal for me.

See, topic should be not iOS vs Android. It should rather be lower mid-range Android versus the Android flagship. For doubling or tripling the price, or maybe more, what meaningful extra an Android flagship is adding over a $150 budget device. It is really worth the price hike? I can experience android on Redmi note 8 which cost me Rs 13000 in India, what HUGE ADD-ON Oneplus 7 pro brings to the table with price tag of Rs 49000? Or a Samsung flagship at Rs 65000?

Even today the 5 year old company iPhones work beatifully. Samsung and OP might be the only good android vendors. Xiaomi is and has been crap.

Edwin270, 28 Jun 2020You are truly ignorant. Are you comparing an android oem'... moreYou are truly dumb. The iPhone was revolutionary when it came out. Android was basically a bad OS when it came out. It felt as if it was too loaded and the touch was added as an afterthought. The iPhone 2G was magical. I would rate the initial androids just as bad as the BlackBerry Storm. Now not so much so. Phones like Oneplus and Samsung now offer same amount of polish as iOS. It is only that I would still pay 10% or at max 15% upfront only to get that apple-y integation over a Samsung. Not 50%.

Was a BB user till 2010. Used Windiws phone 7 briefly. Used iPhone till 2016.Using android since 2009 as secondary and primary phone now. The iPhone, when it came was from the future when it came. Imagine in 2008 , the best way to navigate was having the BB trackball or a stylus or the iPod wheel. And on the iPhone you could use your hand as a stylus! It was really cool. But apart from that , everything about the iPhone was not good. Att net would crash etc. MS steve Ballmer was actually sensible when he talked about the iphone keyboard or the price. But then 3G iPhone was released from 300 bucks and it was great.
When android first launched no one used it. It was neither as polished as the iPhone nor was it good to use like a BlackBerry. Moto droid came in '09 and android just became better.
Frankly I don't even care whether Am on android or iOS as I used to. Android became more polished. It is now similar to iOS.
Only non productive apple users now really care that ios looks or feels more transparent-y.
Most of the iPhone users I know are using it since they need to use their iservices or are in the ecosystem too deep.

iPhone was revolutionary. LG prada was bad. But now no one even should care if they use ios or android. What matters are the appsand things like the camera.

Edwin270, 28 Jun 2020You are truly ignorant. Are you comparing an android oem'... more”IPhone was never a revolutionary device cause before it came into the being there were similar devices that were introduced but did not catch up with the masses”

Yes it was, wonder why those others failed..? :) because they weren’t revolutionary product like iPhone. Making something distantly similar doesn’t mean anything. Biggest game changer with iPhone was multitouch screen and how Apple made computing fun and easy for everyone to enjoy.

”apple is only good at marketing and that's why its able to convince nieve people into buying into their platform.”

Apple is great to making great products which are fun to use and that’s why their userbase is over one billion in size and growing all the time. It’s really silly to think that Apple is where they are because of marketing, marketing works for small period of time, not over 10 years, c’mon! just accept the fact that Apple makes great product which people want to use, that’s why Apple products are always so high in customer satisfaction and their userbase keeps growing and growing.

Best marketing for Apple and always been is their happy users who spreading their user experience and talk about Apple products.

Apple has always been a copycat right from the first iPhone. IPhone was never a revolutionary device cause before it came into the being there were similar devices that were introduced but did not catch up with the masses, apple is only good at marketing and that's why its able to convince nieve people into buying into their platform.

Both copy each other's features. It isn't bad at all. No need to get angry. Just use both and decide yourself which one is for you. For me android phone and Windows computer is the best combination.

Apart from that no other similarities.
IOS will give you proper theme store like other Chinese skins in 2050.
IOS can only dream about being as functional, easy to use and versatile as miui.
                        It's simply handicapped for life.

iOS will be all the time limited by Apple and its exo system, Android does everything that iOS does and it does for as low as 100-150 dollars, Apple will never match this, plus typical hardware limitations, small batteries, slow charging times especially if we talking about cheapest member SE, 400 dollar Android phone is much better choice than SE even iOS 14 will have alot of improvement, it will not match hardware wise anyway.

It's just a platform then OEMs buy it for its license then customise it according to needs. Heck even some $50 Alcatel phone uses an Android platform. At the end of the day it's a matter of preference. Yes iOS does steal some Android ideas but also vice versa.

There is no originality with iOS.

I wonder what would happen if we all just enjoyed our device or OS of choice without fighting over which one is "better" than the other.
