DerChecker, 26 Jun 2020Also no buy from me. Still waiting for a modern phone with ... moreThose are some high-end specs indeed :)). But I think such phone will not be released for some 2-3 more years. The last high-end phone without a cut-out was the Galaxy A80 (or the Note 9 if you wanted the best). Samsung did not have a single phone after that without a punch-hole except some budget phones. I am very happy with my Note 9 and will stick to it for a few more years so I will probably avoid punchhole phones altogether.

For those who are saying that the design is impractical, think again guys, a little bit of brain.
First the camera placement is actually there because
1. It can't be place on the center of the screen because that is where the Fold "Folds" which means the camera hinge is there.
2. Not on the corner right side because there is a camera setup on the back.
3. Not on the corner left side because at the back that is where you find the front or cover display of the phone.
4. Samsung wants it to be BIGGER, DURABLE but at the same time SLIMMER than the previous fold, so that it can be you use at EASE.
5. No Pop-up Camera because it will negate the purpose of slimming the Fold.
6. The camera placement of the Fold 2 is not different from the original fold. It is also off center. It is just samsung decided to put a notch than a punch hole that is why it is not noticeable.

Bafflingly why you keep going on about lack of symmetry being disturbing.
Asymmetry is always more intriguing.

Why not just make the punch hole selfie can in the most center of the screen and not just in the top edge 1/3 of the screen. Like whats the point of this larger screen foldable if you need still holes in the screen that eliminate usable space. Just make a popup as these bricks already are so large that you cant really complain that there isnt space like losing the 3.5mm jack argument that there is no space while phones get bigger and bigger all the time. These foldable phones should just have a screen for the main rear camera on the rare side that will work for selfies too. Dont even need to be bigger then 2 inch as you have a very big screen unfolded anyways

Isn't the point of foldable phone to have full screen without any camera/speaker/whaterver cutout and to be compact and easy to handle? After 5 years fully unfolded phones will probably be used as a 43 inch tv.

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2020No, outward folding with plastic covered screen is still in... moreOnly impractical in isolation
We need data from outward foldables from real world users to push the durability of foldable phones
Inward foldables is just this safe space that I believe won't push for more durable screen technology
Off topic but royole seems to be the best with their cicada hinge technology

Farhan aka Wolverine, 25 Jun 2020No, its not a practical decision at all. They should have s... moreI can see reasons why they don't want a camera on the edge of a tablet sized display.
1. It's more likely you'll block it with a finger and smudge it.
2. It gets so far off centre you look weird on the recipient side of a video call.
This is probably the closest to the folding part they felt comfortable placing the camera. Closer and it might risk issues with strain from folding the device, as the camera module is glued to the glass and probably locked into something on its rear.

No, its not a practical decision at all. They should have shifted the camera all the way to the right, like S10. This is just plain stupid.
