The Snapdragon 875 will reportedly support 100W fast charging, cost dearly

29 June 2020
There are rumors of a significant price hike. The fast charging will be geared towards gaming phones, which typically have large batteries.

I dont agree with any person who says that this SoC is expensive!
These days everyone take it for granted that SoC is secondary part of the phone but its not. Without SoC, you dont have anything. Its not just CPU or GPU, inside you have WIFI, bluetooth, sensors, not to mention modem which is bloody hard to develop, antennas, 5th generation RAM and so many other things, all of them top in a class!
I blame OEMs, they are charging the phone 10x more than SoC itself.
but thats my opinion. now you can tell me that i go back to the cave :)

    Ridiculous priced because of charger

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2020Keep dreaming SD 865 is by far a more advanced and better SoC than A13... Better Ram management. Better connectivity. Supports better screen refresh and frame rates... The list goes on... SD 865 much better than A13... A13 is for the dust... In the ground.

I said "taking Samsung as standard". That means SD SoC in Samsung.

Besides Oppo/Oneplus are forcing the SoC for better benchmark. Even though the gaming phone performs slightly better, they also cheat with the benchmark.

At the end of the day, A13 or A14 and all other A1x chipsets are handicapped by poor co-hardware and iOS itself.

And they have the audacity to call A1x chips the best on market when it can't even do half of its full potential coz of Apple stifling innovation by limiting hardware to take advantage of it.

ROG 3 already giving 640k in Antutu with 865+ which is a higher clocked 865.

Just look at the cores employed.
There will be one X1 core which is 30% faster than cortex A78 with three other cortex A78 cores which in turn are 20% faster than cortex A77.

Won't be surprised if SD875 reaches just below 800k in Antutu.

Y'all are wigging out for no reason. They are anticipating the correct trend of mainstream users moving to the midrange 765 type chips, which are exceptionally capable these days. It's starting this year with the 765 5G phones and will accelerate.

I love my phone with SD845. It still performs like a beast.

I wonder whose 1st 5 nm SoC will be more power efficient, Apples or Qualcomm's ? ¿
