gt, 07 Jul 2020more positive attitude is needed, android rotten from insid... moreoh here's your comment. was wondering where it went.

        you're absolutely right!

its absolutely ridiculous that google claims we 'give' permissions to an app when most apps basically #force# us to do it.

in the earliest permissions implementation in android 4.4.2, there was a hidden menu which could be accessed via a third party laucher app to the permissions screen. if i chose to not give permissions to my contacts to an app, the app would simply receive a result of 'no contacts present' instead of 'permission denied'. same for location, messages, camera and others.

that was a fantastic implementation. and naturally, it was removed in favour of a method that was more helpful for spying & data collection, which is what we have today.

memory handling is the worst too.

there are many 'pundits' who claim there is no advantage is stopping apps running in the background as 'android takes care of it' but that only depends on whether the dev designed the app correctly i.e. did not use a background running service to keep the app alive unnecessarily.

of course, a basic 'ram cleaner' app does nothing useful. only something that stops services like greenify (one of the few chinese apps I confidently use since the dev is a really decent person) works out. even then, there are wake-up intents which apps misuse to auto-start the app when wifi is turned on etc. and users have no control over it! ridiculous!

i'm pretty sure the only reason most people use android is because there's no comparable alternative apart from apple, and not everyone wants to use apple or can afford apple / etc.

of course tik tok doesn't share any user data with governments.
it only sends (not shares) the data to the People's Republic of China (not some 'government').
its basically like The Rock's People's Elbow, except its a Republic.

                    just ban it everywhere.

And it came out before TikTok, which was practically a global version of Douyin. lol. Go look it up.

Could anyone please help. This is a Chinese app and not available in China because it is not complying with there rules. What can we learn from that. It is not that this app is popular now and that is why USA, India is banning it. There is no smoke without fire. CHINA IS NOT SAFE.

pulling out in time to cover their tracks, to not be exposed. I wish I could post a link here, of a recent article showing proof by a security company exposing the very bad tik tok does.

Although, if TikTok is truthful, my hat off to them. Time will tell.
