Dennis.K, 11 Jul 2020The funniest thing is how prople call it "copying"... more"well in that case I coupd call thr first samsung or first androud phone a copycat of the iPhone"

Which is exactly true.

Android was never meant to look and work the way it did in its first version. The devs at Google were working on it for a few years, were almost ready to release it, then the iPhone was launched. When they saw what iOS looks like and how it operates, they had to scrap the entire project and start over from scratch. Building everything based on Apple's designs and ideas.

And Samsung... there is no denying they created iPhone clones, they have been involved in lawsuits with Apple ever since. And they still copy Apple to this day although at a smaller scale.

CompactPhones5ever, 07 Jul 2020I'm thinking exactly the opposite. I see no point in h... moreI would rather have a PHONE that folds out into phablet/tablet territory. Having a phablet that folds in half doesn't solve the usability issues of a too-tall screen, it only attempts to solve the pocketability issue that wouldn't exist if more devices were sensibly sized in the first place. A 5.5" screen that doubles in width when convenient makes more sense than a 6.4" screen that just trades height for thickness at the expense of durability.

TPAA, 07 Jul 2020How can Huawei patent something which already existed? tell that to apple, samsung and the rest of the gang, the majority of patents now are laughable. change the radius of the corner from .4 to .6, patent. moved the camera from .5cm on the right, to .5cm on the left, patent.
there was a time when patents were for real inventions, now just a d*ck measuring contest to see who has the largest pile of useless patents.

TheLastOracle, 07 Jul 2020Someone is openly copying Samsung now. Interesting. now? been going on for a while. in a way its kinda like karma for samsung who used to snitch stuff from nokia & sony way back then and from apple some time back.

It's interesting that despite inward folding mechanism this concept does not have not any gaps when closed completely. Anyway after trying out the actual clamshell foldable phone in the store, I personally see no point of paying more to buy this kind of product over the conventional ones.
