It's reminiscent of the Pixel 4.

I want to respond on the iPhone comments and laugh, but I can't anymore. We are an Apple family outside of myself - two iPads, an Android phone for my son & myself, wife is an iPhone user. And I gotta say, I will never want to switch to iOS, but I totally get why people do it now. Since the 6p, my favorite Google phone, there has been no direction in design and no real flagship, top of line specs from Google with the Pixel program. The camera is it, and I get it's an important component, but the camera is not the primary reason I buy a phone. The only reason we buy that hardware is the benefits offered by Google (security updates, upgrades, Google warranty/optional coverage, free photo storage). If these phones had a Samsung or OnePlus badge on them, I don't think anyone would want them.

Seriously considering any Android One device to hold me over until/if Google ever gets their s**t together again. My hopes for a great Pixel 5 XL are dwindling every day closer to launch.

The XL version has a headphone jack & the normal one doesn't. How weird.

I don't think we will see a Pixel 5XL seeing the latest news. 2020 most likely will give us Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. Unless Google disguises the 4a 5G for the 5XL. My only option is XL. 3a or 4a too small.
Incredible that there is no announcement or no info by Google.

I don't understand how manufacturers can even bring very expensive phones to market without dual speakers.

Google is slow, but slower than the bad guy's horse in the Far West movies. I don't know if it's because of the blockade of China that they require material and China boycotts them, or a total lack of concern for the brand, but they take a long time to bring new products to market. They don't take much care of the image and they are very, very expensive. I am waiting for the Pixel 5, to have a flat screen, stereo speakers, camera with wide and zoom, a battery of up to 4000 mahp, to buy it, and of course a not exaggerated price. Ordering what I ask for is not difficult on a phone. I don't understand the Pixel designers who make phones with such a poorly cared for back and with such big frames (look like childrens drawing). They should abandon the idea of facial recognition or gestures for a better design and use of the screen.

If the Pixel 5 doesn't have a periscope camera, it would be a huge disappointment.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2020Yes the 6p design was actually pretty good, it would have ... moreHi, yes 6P (still have it) is one of the best.
I'm really looking forward for the 5XL and if the actual phone is like the rendering I see, I'm buying it.
I was a Samsung person, till the note 4 then I got tired (lack of updates), and switch to Nexus 5. Since then only pixel phones.
I must say I'm bit disappointed in the Pixel 4XL, but I bought it anyway (pixel 2 battery was dying too fast), tried the 3XL but it was a bit lagging, so I switch to 4XL. BTW, no battery issue for me (at least on par as other phones). What I disagree was the price for the device compare to the specs (64GB-128GB, RAM, camera!).
I like was I see on the 5XL. I use the phone in mix pleasure/work no video games or online games.
Looking forward on to the rear fingerprint, the wide angle camera in par like other top phones, good amount of space and RAM (min. 128GB-8GB), and please flat display. I'm tired of curved screen, what's up with that!

domraym, 10 Jul 2020Master pls tell me a flagship that you use or one you can r... moreCurrently the OnePlus 8 pro is a great flagship to buy.
Great all round experience with very few cons and update system like the Pixel series (if you care about that).
Easy on the wallet too, depending on where you live.
The Find X2 pro is also another good flagship but expensive and not available everywhere.

Rest of them have a few shortcomings like LG V60, Xperia 1 II, S20 series, Mi 10 Pro, Huawei p40 pro, etc.

Bugatti , 09 Jul 2020Id rather to get nexus 6p design with nee specs than having... moreYes the 6p design was actually pretty good,
it would have been a good design to just continue improving upon year after year.
Googles pixel design team just do not seem to have any direction.
I thought the pixel 3 xl also had some promise as a platform to make something basic but really good the following year ,
instead we got the 4 and 4xl which seemed majorly half baked.
When in actual fact with some better hardware decisions they should have been the killer 2020 smart phone models.
                              Alas poor pixels.

After 8 years on Android I gotta say it's time for me to move to iPhone Pro. Had a Pixel for 2 years now and Samsung before. Past couple of years Android manufacturers have not been impressing just gimicky and I've been sadly disappointed in the long term quality of my Pixel. I was on the fence and iOS 14 is the gentle breeze I needed to switch over.

I am moving iPhone after a loyal pixel but left to hang dry by Google by not supporting basic features on the pixel in India even after customer support confirming hardware is capable of supporting. For e.g pixel 2 in india doesn't Supports 4G for voice calls on Airtel or Vodafone network. It doesn't even Supports wifi calling. When i compare these features on iphones, found Apple was prudent to enable it even on iphone 6s. Really frustrating experience with pixel in India and there is no intent from Google to fix issues.
