Yeah. I could have been using my Nexus 5 till now weren't for the small battery and storage.
My Samsung S8+ developed touch problems at the top edges, left and right. So disappointing as I never dropped the phone. 😒

It's not just the headphone jack. Why are we paying more for hardware removal and negligence? No MicroSD slot on any flagships this year except the Galaxy S20 series, Moto Edge, Xperia, and LG V60, the X55 chip killing the battery even FASTER than the X50 (when it's supposed to be an 'upgrade'), and basically limiting options on uniqueness. Every phone has a God-Forsaken punch hole or even DUAL punch hole screen, 20,000 cameras (a whopping 2 of which are useful at all), and batteries that will last a year before not lasting a full day due to updates and the already small capacities for the sake of "THIN BEZELESS PREMIUM LUXURIOUS PHONE TO SHOW OFF MY CLASS TO EVERY PEASANT AROUND ME".
It's getting ridiculous. I respect the Xperia phones for doing what they did (despite being way too expensive for below-average battery life) as well as gaming phones for at least being unique. I'm currently waiting to see if HTC has a flagship up it's sleeve, ROG 3, or Mate 40X gets my interest as I've had my LG V20 to the point of showing its age. I just can't buy a new phone this year if all these phones screw the pooch. I don't want to 'settle' if I'm dropping loads of money on a phone.
F.Y.I. I live in the US. Not a lot of good options for mid-rangers and flagships out here (can't use any Xiaomi phone that isn't the Mi 10, not Poco, nor Meizu, nor Realme, nor Narzo, nor even the new Moto that came out in Europe).

The reason I say this is because phone warranties do not cover water damage and your phone is bound to get water damage if you drop it in a pool even even if it has an ip rating.

The main reason I'm still holding onto my S8 is the price. Phones have increased in price while still not giving much of an upgrade. Size is another concern, most phones are too big.

Each new generation of phones from any manufacturer get flimsier. I remember having a Redmi Note 3 and it was built like a tank with Aluminium body. Then Redmi 5 after that did not feel so sturdy. The newest Redmi phones are pure crap and the backs feel like they were made from Polythene film. Like typical cheap Chinese stuff. Prices increase but durability goes down.

Hope a sensible law somewhere comes out and put these makers in their place.

I've had a Galaxy S5 then an S8 and now an S10e which I'll probably keep as long as I can. Wish I knew about custom ROMs in the past otherwise I'd still be using my S5.

Phone batteries can be easily replaced for 10$-20$ cheap.

I still have the Mate 10 Pro released in 2017. I think the performance of the phone is still there but the 6GB RAM isn't sufficient. The battery has degraded so much but its I still get around 6Hrs of SOT. The camera tho is the most disappointing part of it, its very, very inferior now compared to when I got it. The camera worsened after every update and I think people should watch out on that before buying Huawei. Some people have experienced the same so it isn't only me.

The newer phones don't make people's Facebook or IG post any better or faster. There's really no reason to get these newer phones.
