Weekly poll: is the Poco M2 Pro something you want or has the brand lost its way?

12 July 2020
It's a Redmi Note 9S (aka Note 9 Pro in India), but with faster charging - 33 W vs. 18 W. Is that enough?

Sort by:

Poco f1 is the one and only, next stuff just redmi in disguise

After Pocophone f1 came Mi note 10, this year champion is not yet.
Example what it should be: 48mp ultrawide +150mp main +48mp tele, 8K recording, pop-up camera, better jack like with balanced output /better chip/ 1000mA power...

Again, the poll is flawed - the question should be "do you think Poco M2 is a good deal", not whether or not we plan to buy it... For example iQOO Z1x is a crazy good deal but I won't buy it because it doesn't support 4G bands in my country. Even more for Poco M2 which is EXCLUSIVE TO INDIA, which makes the poll pointless for the rest of the world.

That being said... Poco became a worthless rebranding garbage after Poco F1. Poco M2 is just another pointless phone from a pointless brand.

IndianDivScrapped, 12 Jul 2020Poco F1 was a massive success. The success was so big that ... morethe reason why xiaomi decide to earning more money in other country is because
        1. in china, they accept cheap+add solution, but in the rest of the world, it was cursed.
        2. in outside china, xiaomi use the google play store, which bring them less revenue.
        3. xiaomi also need to pay for google play store license.

Poco F1 was a massive success. The success was so big that a future Poco F2 would have not just cannibalized but completely destroy the sales of Xiaomi's main smartphones like the Mi-series. They also judged it a fair opportunity to introduce the Redmi K-series (Probably because the redmi/main division wanted it's leg above the newcomer, some internal company politics, conspiracy much?)

POCO brand in such a situation was left with no space and hence it was decided to scrap the brand and just make it a rebranding horse. There is also the factor that Xiaomi in 2019 had changed it's policy towards earning more money from smartphone sales in overseas markets (look at the launch prices compared to China)

Just essentially a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro. Camera bump has vacuum cleaner properties, multiple units had production defect.

I don't get the reason to call the same 💩 with different names in every country...
An iPhone 11 is called iphone 11 worldwide.

Lost its way. Looking at Poco f1 I thought Poco had a future.

wait for a few weeks, xiaomi will rebrand poco LOL

The SD 720 doesn't have any advantage over any other midrange CPU.
Xiaomi should use Dimensity 820 instead.
