Most of them are salty iPhone, Sony LG users who are stuck at 18W charging.
They are just jealous that Chinese brands are providing better fast charging technology than their so called premium brands.

Ok, but I don't want to be paying more considering this phone is going to be somewhat expensive, I also don't want to spend extra money on a charging port that is also not cheap. Secondly most and I mean a heck of a lot of people use the brick that comes with the phones, especially when it is capable of fast charge. Most of us aren't going to go dish out another 300 bucks on a charging station, since all we ask for is fast charging, I know this has fast charging, but i just simply think that ASUS are capable of giving faster chargers for such a big battery.

'' have about 3 I think unused Black Samsung chargers somewhere around that I haven't given away yet and I rarely use them'', fair enough but I bet none of them are capable of 20W or higher, if you have a faster charger than it makes sense, but if i buy a phone with a 6000 mAh battery, I don't want to wait hours for it to charge up using my old charger, I want it to charge faster with the charger given.

All i'm saying is that I think it should be a bit faster, I doubt going from 30W to 45W could have cost them THAT much more, since cheaper brands are doing it for cheaper. But I don't think its a deal breaker, just a small observation. It would have been nice to see 40-45W but guess I cant get everything, specially in the smartphone industry.

Rk100, 12 Jul 2020That's not my problem, it's that I know this phon... moreManufacturers don't bother about putting the best possible charger in because it saves them money not too and they know that most people use a portable charger or usually the nearest available when they are out and at home, I use a charging hub that has a type c for my phone micro A for my headphones and the cradle for my watch leaving 2 spare ports and only using one power point which for me is like crazy important considering the list of tech that I have to try and power off a double socket, I dont know how the breakers hold but I know it was over AU$300 for the 2 powerboards that keep my gear safe. A little off track sorry, but thats the reason, if you got a phone, you got a charger and 99% of people for one reason or another buy an aftermarket and have it until the latest phone wants more than it can give. I always tell people to buy a powerful and smart charger with at least 5 ports. My last 1 was a 5 port 5v 2A Max per channel 8A Max total and I had that from the Pixel XL through gotta think now, through the Note8, 2×S9+ whoops, A note9 and about 6 months with the Note10+ until I spotted a beautiful 45w per channel with type c and a M3 Velcro patch that keeps it firmly on the side of my bed side drawers out of the way and I have about 3 I think unused Black Samsung chargers somewhere around that I haven't given away yet and I rarely use them. Why would you when you can have better, faster and longer lasting for what 5% the cost of your phone or less!

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2020Yeah, and let the battery degrade fasterA conventional charger has an output of 5 to 10 watts. A faster charger can improve that by up to eight times. For example, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max come with an 18-watt fast charger, the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus have 25-watt chargers in their boxes. Samsung will sell you an extra-speedy 45-watt charger for $50.

Unless there's some technical flaw with your battery or charger electronics, however, using a fast charger won't do your phone's battery any long-term damage.

Here's why. Fast-charging batteries work in two phases. The first phase applies a blast of voltage to the empty or nearly empty battery. This gives you that blazing charge of from 50 to 70% in the first 10, 15 or 30 minutes. That's because during the first phase of charging, batteries can absorb a charge quickly without major negative effects on their long-term health.

For instance, Samsung promises its 45-watt charger can go from zero to a 70% charge in half an hour. Apple says the fast charger that comes with its iPhone 11 Pro can hit a 50% charge in 30 minutes.

You know how it seems to take as long to fill up that last 20 or 30% of the battery as it does to charge the first 70 or 80%? That last part is the second charging phase, where phone-makers have to slow down and carefully manage the charging speed or else the charge process actually could damage the battery.

Arthur Shi, a tear-down engineer at the DIY repair site iFixit, suggests to imagine a battery as a sponge. When you first pour water onto a dry sponge, it absorbs liquid quickly. For a battery, this is the fast-charging phase.

As you continue to pour water onto the increasingly wet sponge at the same rate, the liquid will bead up on the surface as it fights to soak into the saturated sponge. For a battery, this unabsorbed charge can result in shorts and other issues that could potentially damage the battery.

Damage is rare if everything's well-managed inside. A battery's management system closely monitors the two charge phases and drops the charging speed during the second phase to give the battery time to absorb the charge and avoid issues, which is why it can take 10 minutes to get those last few percentage points.

Anonymous, 12 Jul 202030W charging for 6000mah battery means full charge in 1 hou... moreThat's not my problem, it's that I know this phone isn't going to be cheap yet other gaming phones do at least 40W, most of them now do 50W or 65W. So why can ASUS, one of the biggest players in the whole gaming hardware industry. Also considering it has such a massive battery, it would be nice to see it come with at least a 45W, imo. The Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro
can do 100% in 36 mins on a 5000 mAh with 65W, the Oppo Ace2 packs a 65W charger and it supports 40W wireless. Also this phone will take at least 1 and a half hour to 2 hours to charge, firstly comparing it to the Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G Racing, it has a 30W charger and a smaller battery but it took it 57 mins to go 100%, so that means the ROG P3 will take far longer. Understand now?
