22 June, 2012

A very BOLD move... Maybe RIM is taking another strategy on how to keep up with it's competitors... I personally like Blackberry phones because of their sturdiness and straightforward approach to consumers' needs... Especially people who hates touchscreen phones...

People should stop living in the past and learn to use a touchscreen.

Unfortunately I think its over bor BlackBerry, the competition is just too strong, certainly now since WP8 was released.

Or well I dont care that much for BlackBerry (RIM), its seems as they never understood why they saw some success a while back, it wasnt the business sector which is what they seem to think. It was that they became trendy texting devices among consumers.
They never understood they had to start making multimedia devices, to keep the success.

But its sad to see TAT going under.
And its sad for the mobile world to loose one of the competitors. I doubt their OS will good enough to license, and it wont have an ecosystem (no desktop/mobile crossover for apps).
What they could do is find a way to port their OS over to linux, and hope to enter the business sector that way.

This will be a monumental flop. The only reason people use bb is for the full qwerty physical keyboard. Didnt they try all touch screen before? How did that turn out? I'm still looking for a proper replacement for my n900 and the only viable options are droid 4 and samsung captivate glide. For a great touch phone experience I can buy a simple iphone or keep my n9. This is a huge gamble for a company that isn't even holding pocket aces.

People, have't you seen the new BB 10 touchscreen keyboard? it is the best! so RIM's decision to release a touchscreen phone in the beginning is right! becides, why bother, if a month later they release a phone with a keyboard. and probably this analyst wants to see RIM dead, or why does he say that a month later it would be too late for RIM

[deleted post]Totally wrong 90% of folk i know use BB and mainly because of physical keypad..All the folk at my gym except 2 iphones 2 dumbfones use a qwerty hardware BB..when i walk round town center hundreds of folk BB messaging and using glitzy cases to house their BB..In fact and including me HATE this touchscreen revolution and cant wait till tiny fones come back in fashion which they will, things ALWAYS go in circles..

If all of BB users are only using BB because of the hardware qwerty keypad and they dont bring out these type of devices BlackBerry are GONE/DEAD here in UK.

                        Microsoft should buy RIM.
Windows phone 8 on RIM would be a perfect business phone.

the problem with BB is that there touch screen phones are not as good for its price! its not even super AMOLED or whatever! the interface of BB7 on a touch screen phone is horrible! the torch wasnt good! i hope to see a BB10 device that is really promising!! ready to face the challenges of Apple iPhone5, Samsung galaxy S3, Future Nokia Lumia WP8 device and other manufacturers who will make a super phone with android4.0/4.1/windows phone 8 on board!

Surely much wil depend on the OS overall as to whether it is a hit or a miss.

I'm not sure who RIM use to do their market research but they need shooting me thinks.

Blackberrys distinguishing feature was always the keyboard... The Storm was a flop and the Torch just about kept it together because it was a blend of touch and keyboard.

I believe they have made the wrond decision to compete with Android they need to focus on business and QUERTY phones.

RIM is aptly going to end up in the toilet if they continue with 'inovations' like these.
