Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro allegedly on their way, sporting the SD865 and SD865+, respectively

The kernel source code for a mysterious Asus ZF model potentially holds clues.

Yes people, there are reports on other sites that the Zenfone 7 will retain the flip camera. Both 7 and 7 pro will retain it.

AMOLED panels will get issues after a while. Oneplus series with OLED panels are already facing a bunch of issues. Asus should go with IPS LCD with 120Hz refresh rate for Zenfone 7 pro, instead of AMOLED. Too many issues. Not something I wanna deal with unless they source the panels from a good supplier.

Hopefully we could see the Zenfone 7 and pro being unveiled on 22nd July.

Kinda late to the party but at least the 865 is more affordable now, so Zenfone 7 shouldn't cost more than $600 while the pro not more than $800.
Asus have always done good with updates and cameras, so this might be something worth waiting for.
Considering it's not announced it will probably launch in late August.

The specs are looking great ! If the ZF 7 goes for $ 550-600 (which it easily can in Asian markets like India, Philippines, Vietnam, China..), it will completely annihilate the oneplus Nord.

I wonder if Asus is still going to retain the motorized dual wide/ultrawide rear camera like in Zenfone 6. Or perhaps that they have gone for a completely new camera setup? Either way, I cannot wait to see this new successor coming.

Just give telephoto cam and use amoled display and sd865 and retain everything from Zenfone 6 and it should be good. 550 usd minimum variant price.

I bought my first Asus Product Asus 5Z in India when launched. This was my test to use an Android phone migrating from iphone 6S. Asus 5Z handset build was very good. But Asus eco system to migrate data, using web cloud storage, Asus skin conflicting with Android are very bad experience. I thought I had a value for money deal, but disappointed with their support system since I visited 4 times their services centre and each time paying ₹500 with my problems not solved. I escalated to CEO level but Asus not bothered about customers. I offered them honorary management inputs to bail Asus out of this irritants faced by user while their build quality is excellent. I have demanded a replacement for my Asus 5Z with Asus 7 or 7 Pro with a fair discount for the inconveniences inflicted on me. Hopefully Asus 7 insulates users from software bugs while I am confident build and presentation will be competing.!

Plz plz plz plz remove the chin that makes this amazing phone ugly.

ZENFONE is not good. I had a 3 ZENFONES in my family and all agreed on 1 point that ZENFONES are not good.

I have zenfone 6 and what i would like to see in zenfone 7:

Oled display, better cameras, better fast charging and snapdragon 765 to keep the price below 500 euro.

Pro model could be 750-800 euro with even better cameras and snapdragon 865 and more ram and storage.

Dometalican, 19 Jul 2020My stab at this: Zenfone 7: Flip camera's return... moreWOW. someone on GSMArena listing a realistic asking price for a phone. Thought I'd never see the day. Too many people on here want phones like the Rog 3 to cost around 500 dollars . I think what u listed and the price is very realistic tbh. Although for ZenFone 7 Mate them specs, would be a slight spec bump from the 6. It would be like one plus __ and then one plus__t not much improvements but tbh I'd still get the phone with Ur listed specs

                            My stab at this:

                            Zenfone 7:

Flip camera's return with an added ToF sensor for better facial recognition and 64MP sensor
                            6.5" 1080p LCD with 90Hz refresh rate
                            Headphone jack
8GB RAM/128GB ROM (UFS 3.0) with dedicated microSD card slot again
                            Stereo Speakers
Physical fingerprint reader on the side
                            Same 5,000mAH battery
                            More LTE bands (adding 29, 32, 34, 66, and 71)
Wifi 6/Bluetooth 5.1/USB 2.0 (to keep the cost low)

                            for let's say $700

                            Zenfone 7 Pro:
All of the above (besides the SnapDragon 865+) except:

Flip camera's wide angle will improve to 16MP and add an 8MP telephoto lens
6.5" OLED (LG or BOE) with 90Hz refresh rate
                            In-Display Fingerprint Reader
                            8GB RAM/256 GB ROM (UFS 3.0) with a 12GB RAM/512GB version
                            USB 3.0
                            Wireless Charging (15W minimum)
                            IP67 (minimum)

                            For $850

                            That's my guess.

This might be my next phone.
Asus please make it worth the price, without any major cutbacks.

apprise, 18 Jul 2020The world moves on with headphone jacks. contactless pay is... moreCompatibility is even more important, and that's what Jack give you, being suddenly unable to use my Corsair Void Pro, which have way better quality than any Bluetooth earthings is completely stupid, Jack is used by many professionals.
It is like suddenly removing the display and only using audio description in the sake of ecology as display aren't green and as it will waste less batteries.
Or if smartphones suddenly had no camera at all and rather we were expected to use wireless bluetooth thingy to take pictures.
A phone is made to make calls, jack is used for both way audio, so it is deeply way more essential to the phone than wireless paiement which aren't part of what a phone is, but rather a confort thing.
Phones are less and less properly able to make calls nowadays, there are tons of bugs and stupid limitations while next to that you can literally simulate molecules with the same device.

I am not saying smartphone should only make calls or shouldn't allow wireless payement, but clearly the call part should be the MAIN focus and everything else should come second, and Jack is an ESSENTIAL part of that, forcing to use Bluetooth while all Bluetooth equipment have lower quality and require to be charged is a serious downgrade.
That's why some brands even put the Jack in their advertisements, either saying they never removed it or they added it back, because the vast majority of peoples want it.

So again: There is NOT A SINGLE REASON why Jack port should be removed, the ONLY thing that can be done is to replace it with a magnetic port which lay flat and if done properly doesn't have any significative internal space usage with only downside to use an adapter, but it is way better than the USB to Jack one as it doesn't waste a port and it is considerably better than wireless receiver.
