@geordie81 - laough all you want, but I actually have experience with what I'm talking about. The curved screen on my Note 8 is crap. It's all about style, but provides worse usability. Keys on the sides of the virtual keyboard absolutely behave worse than those in the middle, and there are many other reasons why this is a poor design choice, as already mentioned here by others.
As for the headphone jack, $400 won't buy you wireless headphones that can sniff the sound quality of $150 wired headphones. Have you ever actually tried good headphones, or do you use the earbuds that come with the phone?
As for relevancy, the Note 10 Lite is a current model that's being made and sells in bucket loads. If one doesn't need super fast CPU (and I'm very curious who does, other than gamers), it's simply a more useful and usable offering than the more expensive Note models. The fact that it's also significantly cheaper makes it a crazily attractive phone. Get more, pay less. I hope it's not a one-off for Samsung.

AnonD-120291, 22 Jul 2020flat screens will always be superior?? owning an iphone SE2... moreYou misunderstood the gaming part. Buttons that are placed near the edges on the screen where its curved are slightly harder to hit. From experience on the S6edge and the default position of the weapons and crouch/prone buttons on PUBG are on the curve. Not banding. S20 fixed that with a less curved screen which is in a fine balance between flat and curve but no less practical than flat. Also to add to the curve screen is inferior opinion. This is a Galaxy NOTE device. It has a pen. Try drawing on a paper on the edge of the table. Now draw where the paper is bent along the edges of the table. Tell me how much more practical that is. How easy it is to draw a straight line. Yes its a phone and you could move the canvas in the app but its less practical. Same situation as the gaming part except this is with a pen. Like trying to hit the X on an add where the screen corners are curved with the bezel. You are either hitting the bezel or the flat screen. Instead of the old Right angle bend where you get the entire full view. Without cutting literal corners. Take for example the Xperia 1ii. Corners are the least curved on any phone nowadays plus no obstructions on the main display with the selfie camera placed on the bezel. I'm fine with punch holes and notches tho. Software optimizations has made it acceptable and not an annoyance.
Look, I don't hate the Note20. I like the design and I like what Samsung is doing. But they fixed the curve on the S20 making it subtle and now they're back with the strong curve and on a phone with a pen. It doesn't make sense. That is to say IF this rendering is completely accurate to the real design on release. Still. How much space could a headphone jack take in a phone? Even the Xperia Pro (hasn't came out) is going to have an small HDMI port. with the same motherboard on the regular Xperia 1ii which also has a headphone jack with HighRes audio and an EQ. To add another point. Xperia 1ii is also the only few phones to have a dedicated camera button. Judging from how easy it is to disassemble and reassemble along with its excellent repairability. The phone could cram more.

Qimchi, 21 Jul 2020Flat screens will for now always be superior than curved sc... moreflat screens will always be superior?? owning an iphone SE2 and a galaxy note 10+ i can say that is not the case i operate both phones equally, flat offers me nothing different, screen protectors are easy to buy and fit, this isnt 2014, there are a ton of fitted screen protectors costing under $10 even for glass and under $5 for plastic, as for accidental touches, yea ok I can see that, it happens to me occasionally perhaps 1 or 2 times per week, change the settings, problem solved on that, as fir high quality external mic recording? i know nothing of that so I cant really claim any benefits, but surely high quality usb c with an adaptor is equal, but that is a speciality set up, probably 95% of mass consumers will NEVER have a phone setup that way, so companies will never cater for the minority, they supply an adaptor for that, banding on the screen? the game doesnt go right to the edge of a curved screen anyway you can see this on games, whenever i play call of duty, there is no gameplay lost over the edge of the curve, and anything that does go over is usually just screen brightness, i see no beneficial difference in 2-3mm of unused edge on such a big phone, if you dont like the design that is totally fine, but to say a curved edge is inferior or less productive is completely wrong, the ONLY genuine negative about a curved display is that it is much more prone to getting broken along its edge, i did exaclty that, however i took mine caving and hit it on a rock, so thats the fool in me, its the first phone display in 8 curved phones I have broken

A 3.5mm jack is no lo... morei do not disagree with choice at all, and for sure manufacturers COULD reimplement them, but lets face it, we know they wont and dont need to, it will help push sales of wireless headsets, have you looked inside modern phones? they are crammed packed full, if something like a 3.5mm has to go to make way for larger components like camera, or heat sinks or battery for example....i will take the 3.5mm loss anyday

again no pop up camera.still a punch hole selfie camera.still a chin on the bottom of the display while apple are way ahead in hiding or minimalizing circuitry technology since the first x series.and still a camera hump at the back which is only alleviated by a waterproof rubberized or leather cover.and what about a forest green colour.only sony can manage to pull that colour off with the xperia xz3 series.say no more.
