1,05 meters? That's way too long. We need much shorter cables, 10 cm maximum. So that Apple can bolster everywhere that they save the Earth, while people hang their iPhones from the electrical outlet.

    Android 10 simply incorporated them as part of the OS just like split screen multitasking already existed on Samsung and others before being part of Android as a whole.

                      this is probably in response to their fight with EU. the pins are great but the cables suck. wonder if this'll improve things.

                      also, larger dia and lightning to usb-c? probably targeted for fast charging.

                          And bezel less, well if it is for having a notch or a punch hole, I'd rather go back in time and stop this madness from happening.
                          As much as I can understand why someone wouldn't want a iPhone SE like gigantic bezel, I totally REFUSE to believe that a slim bezel like in the Nubia Play, or Xiaomi Black Shark 3 or even the Meizu 16 could REALLY be that bad for anyone.
                          And sadly pop up camera are underused and basically none have 3D facial recognition (the Oppo Find X isn't a proper pop up but a pop up/slider hybrid.

                          But anyway, I agree, I am really fine with my OnePlus 6t and I would only upgrade if I find one that have the features I want (would be wasteful to change just to have only half or less of the features I want, so I wait).

                            knowing Apple, I don't think they will offer their cables braided...
                            come on, their goal is maximise profit, and frail cable is one of their money puller...

                                -Lack of versatile cameras.
                                -Lack of faster charging.
                                -Lack of latest connectivity (5g,Bluetooth 5.1,WiFi 6,etc).
                                -Lack of latest protection (Gorilla glass, etc)
                                -Lack of bezel less screen and smaller overall footprint.
                                -Lack of efficient chipset, smaller battery capacity.
                                And many more things.

                                We don't upgrade on Android coz it becomes trash, we do coz newer models are simply more tempting and provides a huge upgrade in every department.
                                While iPhones are barely getting any upgrades, software or hardware wise,so people stick to older models as it isn't any different looking compared to newer models nor do the newer models provide anything significant of an upgrade software/hardware wise.
                                At the end of the day, there is nothing new or innovative offered to existing users, so they stick to older models to save money.

                                        iPhone users = Wait one year, get free updates. Wait half a year, get beta updates.

                                        Battery life after 2 years. 80% full capacity with high usage. Apply to all phones nowadays. So the battery gate every phone out there.

                                        So after 2 - 5 years, you may wish to change your battery. If you go Android route, you would say just buy a new phone.. because its trash, but if you choose not to.. you change android battery.. but it will lose its water resistant feature. But iPhone, you go Apple service center, they swap out your battery, while still preserve your water resistant feature.

                                        Everything good comes with a price.
