Honestly I could care less about the update. The lumia 900 is still a great phone and does everything I want it to do. I'll just buy WP 8 for full price when I can afford it. Its not that big of a damn deal to have an outdated phone. Especially when you've never had a smart phone until the lumia came out. Ive lasted years on a flip phone. People are just overreacting to the situation.

Even free is not interested phone. It is old now, not upgradable and with a very obsolete OS. Hope to keep using my symbian phone which is much better.

Best way to sell WP phones is to sell them for US$0.01, unlock without contract!

Then I'm sure it will outsell Galaxy and iphone combined!

upgrade it to WP 7.8, which rounded up you could say it's WP8 really as its got the some start screen.

This is great news for Windows and Nokia fans, easy sales now to continue to crush android.
Sure Elop got this deal Samsung would be jealous of

Well I can see everyone having issues with the phone and the OS move by M$, but its actually a pretty good phone all things considered. If you are using your phone for a limited amount of Apps then the Lumia is more than fine. I do agree that Nokia should've used the android OS too though. But then their phones would run terribly with its current hardware.

AnonD-14563, 27 Jun 2012Lol, the tech analyst Tomi Ahonen was right once again, Nok... morexoj_21 is a known troll. Lumia 900 started at $100 not $500, went to $40 ,and now 1 cent. $500 is probably the full price and you can't get the Lumia 900 at full price for 1 cent. 1 cent is two years contract. Nobody would buy at $500 with 2 years contract.

Lol, the tech analyst Tomi Ahonen was right once again, Nokia is F****d.

I quote - this is written yesterday (26 June):"

So now we get the Windows 8 news. No upgrade for any current Windows Phone based smartphones by any manufacturer, to Windows 8. The total Nokia Lumia line is instantly Osborned, not by Elop, but this time, by Ballmer. Anyone who bought a Lumia will seem like a total fool to any knowledgable friends. The carriers who sold Lumia (and Samsung, HTC etc Windows Phone handsets) will be blamed for selling an obsolete product - there will be record returns and tons of complaints, especially from all who are now on two year contracts. Those customers will demand to be released from those contracts.

This means that the current stock of all four Lumia phones is instantly undesirable. What we thought that Nokia profitability and average prices were falling, will be far worse. Now these obsolete phones have to be sold for pennies on the dollar.

UPDATE 27 June - wow that didn't take long. One of my Twitter followers, Jose Galvez @xoj_21 sent me update from Amazon that the Lumia 900 which originally had Amazon list price of $499.99 US dollars - is now sold.. wait for it.. for one cent !! For one penny !! I was wrong! Lumia didn't crash so badly it would sell for pennies on the dollar. It sells for one fifth of one penny on the dollar. From 500 dollars to one penny. This is murder on Lumia and the Nokia reputation. (Thanks Jose for finding the link) "

FWIW, I really like the hardware and think it is a really good looking phone, but Microsoft are slowly killing off its own fans. I don't see how an upgrade to 8 isn't possible. Surely they could have had a 'lite' version available for this handset at the very least?

"So, yes, take my money! I will commit in a two year agreement for a phone that will be supported for the next three months. After that I will have no access to new apps, never will be able to perform multi tasking and will not have any major software upgrade. But who needs that boy? I can resize my tiles! Yippee! I'll be resizing my tiles for the next two years. Others might be getting new apps, new OSs or any other new stuff, but they won't be able to resize their tiles! Oh, wait. What?"
And at the time WP8 launches, expect heavily subsidized phones too. They need to promote their platform from zero. ALL OVER AGAIN. MS will make Nokia broke and then buy it for peanuts.

Another good step from Nokia. Bit by bit, WP phones are taking the right steps and are making progress in eating up Android market share. Go go Windows!
