The OPX was literally all about giving you the best hardware and specs for the cheapest price possible. It was a very altruistic and consumer-oriented move which was why people liked OnePlus.

Bought in 2015, and I still have it as a backup phone. Oneplus X is by far to me the best looking phone Oneplus ever made. The OLED display and Snapdragon 801 at that time was epic for that price. Nobody knew what the handset was when they saw it in my hand, but everybody loved it.

But since the SoC had issues as well, many OEM didn't even bother updating. Many phones were forgotten quickly. This is the only time I applaud Samsung for not using Snapdragon chips.

I have used this phone but this phone performance was initially better but after 1.5 years creating networking problem .

Brought Oneplus X through invite system and I'm using it still. Great phone: I love the size, quality of build and AMOLED display. Battery life still decent after the years. I agree so much with this article, if only the Nord was 5", 5.5" max... Great flashback, thank you for it!

You see that? The part where the promise of the two getting an upgrade to nougat was broken? That is when i was done with oneplus for good and have literally hated the brand ever since! I have always despised the oneplus phones i ever came across and would never go back to them even if they were the only brand selling the smartphones in the entire world!

We only got a mere 9 months of support. There are a lot of other phones released with 5.1 that didn't get the android 7 update. I reckon it has to do with major changes in core api that people were just to lazy to update because of sheer number of modifications (split screen, boot, storage encryption, update system, etc). I feel that android 5 and 7 probably had the probably the biggest low level changes in android. (just speculation from a pleb)
Or probably it's just my anguish in being unable to use an android 7/8 device. :(

OnePlus X was my first association with OnePlus company and the performance of it is still irreplaceable !!. I love the way it was built back in 2015 and what astonished me is that the above article replicates my feeling exactly of eagerly waiting to see another product line same like OnePlus X, a petite one with glass finish and the most important is metal finish and the width of phone which is still unique. By all means, I was trying my best to get this message reach to OnePlus team so that they keep this in mind when they work on the successor of OnePlus Nord.

All I want today is a phone that has important things.
Nothing like 3 or 4 rear cameras, no 120/144Hz nor 100W charging.
But something like iphone SE, with 6" 1080p HDR LCD, IP68, front stereo speakers, carbon fiber body, single rear camera (18MP 1" 26mm f2.0 - 2.6) with 4K30 video (130Mbps), 5500mAh, notification LED.
CPU can be 665/670/675 or 712.
I would not mind paying $670.

I returned my Oneplus X after 7 days. So many software bugs out of the box and terrible battery life.

I'm so obsessed with the phone that I'm still using it as my primary phone though have had used all other variants of one plus n also all my family use OnePlus phones.

Maybe because QC dropped support for the SD801 while Google was still testing Android Nougat. Even Sony was confused as the Xperia Z3 just entered Beta testing Android 7 which was abandoned real quick because of no support anymore from QC. But then interesting enough the Lenovo Zuk Z1 and Fairphone 2 were the only SD801 devices with official updates to Android 7.
