A50 were also full plastic, similar bend stuff but didn't crack, oneplus nord failed.

A metal frame with a plastic back would've been a much better decision and also could've made the phone much stronger. I thought the phone was a good value for money until I came to know about the plastic frame. The crack during the bend was the last mail in the coffin. Not even considering this phone now

Omg I hate the way OnePlus has hyped this up. So what it’s a bit cheaper than it’s Realme cousin and sure it’s a good spec for the money but it’s over hyped period. Also, the fact it broke has now put me off. Would rather pay a bit more and have it’s Oppo find x2 neo brother with the better core build. I bet all those people who got a stiffy and pre-ordered it are now thinking maybe not such a good idea buying into the hype 😂

Anonymous, 27 Jul 2020It's because it's plastic AND glass. They wanted... morei would rather a plastic back and metal frame to glass back and plastic frame.

Even the Samsung M series phone with plastic backs never snap..that's where the price of 90Hz Amoled & SD 765 was adjusted..well the OnePlus & Redmi users deserve this.

Ah..the plastic body. Atleast the Asus Zenfone 6 had an Aluminum body so the ZF 7 should have it too, & the Snapdragon 865 too for $ 530ish.

If you care about the device you've paid for, treat it with care and certainly don't bend it at full force. Simple.

Anonymous, 27 Jul 2020Dude, Even the budget range xiaomi/ Redmi devices are bett... moreTell that to all the people that have recently bought a Note 9S/pro with all the hardware and software failures it has till this day, or the bootloop Mi a2 debacle that caused phones to perma brick and physically damage the screen because of poor quality control when releasing a new software update. Not defending this crappy Nord phone, but don't tell people Xiaomi is more robust or build with better quality because that's simply not the case. Xiaomi may be a little bit better, it's still bad though.

Well, just really bad engineering and bad materials for the frame. And again bad engineering which led the internals to damage the screen from inside at almost first bent. And even I was considering to buy it, now I see what a fail it is. A fragile overhyped mediocore quality device. Sorry, OnePlus, waiting for Pixel 4a. Pixel 3a already proven to be tough and reliable device. OnePlus just made compromises in wrong department

Jiminy, 27 Jul 2020Lol..the Samsung A51 5G with an aluminium body for $ 500 wo... moreCan't be bothered to deal with the horrendous build quality of all Samsung phones except their flagships. Don't even get me started on the non existent customer service when the phone breaks or when you need support. Had to wait 7!!!!! Months for a cashback promotion they had about a year ago. Never a Samsung product again for me, and I recommend others to stay away aswell if you don't want to lose your mind if something goes wrong (with the probability of something going wrong being about 45%)

please, tell me the cost of putting a steel or aluminium ring around a phone ( or even a glass back)!. i have just accepted that these companies do not like poor people and don,t see any reason why they should deserve something "good".

Those volume buttons placement are a real deal, for they act as a point of initiation for a crack to occur.
The same fate went for the iPad Pro too. I believe a bend test to be integrated during manufacturing. It gives a good clue on the point of initiation for cracks to occur. This feedback could then be reiterated to make proper adjustments on the device, like shifting the volume button somewhere else or shrinking the device a bit to align them at the centre.
Seems like the structural integrity of OnePlus Nord isn't that great. This could affect their sales.
