You can enable the even faster refresh through some ADB tomfoolery.

Its not always safe to overclock a monitor display, leave alone a phone one. I think we should avoid it for regular use.. At best use for 10 minutes or so.

I'm suspecting that Asus chose a 160Hz capable display and kept it so while rigorous testing, but just to be on the safer, cooler side they restricted it to 144 hz... and why not.

Either ways, 144 vs 160 is not a world of difference... or even noticeable one, I might argue.

            Let's friggin GO!

Real talk, who is forcibly obliged to set the phone to 120hz, 144hz or 160hz at all? I have a RoG Phone II but I set it to 90hz and I won't change it to 120hz for battery concerns and the fact that the games I'm playing doesn't support 90hz - 144hz and I'm looking at Moonton's Mobile Legends. They have HFR mode but only at 60hz max.

You are those kinda guy who never used a pc and thinks that smartphone is the only gadget where software innovations takes place. C'mon man a little smartphone can never ever replace a desktop computer.
Desktop computer isn't just limited to browsing, editing, and making Excel sheet. There are tons of other stuff you didn't ever heard about.

Many people including gamers and bloggers can't live without them. Even if you just browse the internet computer can do it better. But having a great phone is good too.

You meant to say hidden orgasm mode for gamers?

6000mAh battery doesn't sound much anymore with that crazy screen refresh rate, but that's actually smart move by asus. 4000mah battery on s20 is too limited for intensive use of 120hz screen, coupled with inefficient exynos.

TunakTunak, 28 Jul 2020What are you even talking about? Read the bottom most comment and he assumed that you can do graphics design and 3D computer games on a ROG Phone.

Tiny display and 5W SoC. Gaming PCs have very high SoC wattage. No gaming computer setup has a 5W CPU.

This is mind blowing stuff. We've jumped from 60hz to 160hz in a little over 2 years.
