If they can slim it down, remove the gap and make the front screen about a 1/2" to 1" wider, it will be perfect. You can read ebooks like a tablet or fold it halfway like a book. The speakers are loud and clear, but like many bottom positioned speakers, it doesn't have strong bass.
As for the screen/display. No problems. I already broke my screen, but what happened to me was so uncommon it would not happen to anyone else. Since I keep my nails short scratches has not been an issue. There are a couple of minor scratches on the screen that I think came from a microfiber cloth I used. These aren't scratches you can see without focusing at a certain angle. The crease starts to form almost immediately and it is no more visible than it was before.
Between now and Wed, you should look at Z flip videos to see how the screen has been holding up. That is the screen Samsung is rumored to use.

How is the sound from the external speakers on the Fold 1? Also, have you had any problems with the display? I mean is it easy to damage with your fingers/fingernails? That's what I'm most worried about. I tend to sometimes press hard on the screen when playing games.

Anonymous, 30 Jul 2020Whats wrong with supporting companies that actually provide... morethey're stifling innovation and giving android a bad name
one look at their designs and it's clear. they all look the same and copy off one another when a new design appears.
they did it with notches, they did it with teardrop selfie cameras, the electric stove rear cameras and now they're doing it with the hole punch, all while claiming "innovation" just because they did it with a higher megapixel count, specs or lower price.
i mean ffs what's the point of adding a macro and depth camera that don't even function or are optimized properly??
their stuff all sound good on paper, but that's pretty much it. optimisation, UI, what's that? not to mention the adware lol
and also, what is up with them duplicating all their stuff and creating like ten thousand clones of the same darn thing (looking at you, chinese companies)

Looks good, but I'm still not sure this addresses the actual issue with the front screen. That is, being able to type and text efficiently. They added to the length by removing the bezels and everyone is happy about the aesthetics, but the width looks like it remains the same. Trust me, typing on this phone's front screen is a nightmare and I don't even text that much. If I had to write this paragraph on the Fold's front screen, it would take forever. I'm also curious to see how movies will look on the front screen because it's not going to fill it entirely. That's a minor issue though.
Otherwise, loving the direction. Can't wait to see what they do for the 3rd generation.

travstr, 30 Jul 2020but PLEASE at least someone confirm or deny if it has S Pen... moreI'm no expert but taking the fragile screen technology into consideration I don't think it's possible to use the S-pen or any other writing tool on it without risking severaly damaging the materials. Samsung even warns that one should not press too hard when using the screen. Also I read a review that said the screen could be damaged if you accidentally press a finger nail too hard on it.
I think in a couple of years they will have solved the fragile screen issue and then we can use the S-pen on foldable devices as well:)
I'm a huge Note fan myself and having an S-pen to use with the Galaxy Fold would be pure perfection!
