rcl4444, 27 Jun 2012It's sounding like Jelly Bean will be to ICS what Eclair 2.... moreWell , i think Google is sick of OEM based tablets and released this tablet (even though this is based on ASUS , it runs stock version). They just want to how how it runs by showing tablet as example.

I think Jellybean is really not a great update , i think google wants manufacturers to follow ICS first , So they can catch up jelly bean which has less new features easily and then Key Lime Pie will be a big update.

It's sounding like Jelly Bean will be to ICS what Eclair 2.1 was to Eclair 2.0. It's primarily about optimisations and streamling the code.

So if your phone supports ICS then it will almost definitely support JB...just up to the manufacturers (or devs) to provide the ROMs.

I for one think this is an excellent and obvious move by Google. Excellent because they are focused on removing one of the biggest complaints of Android - the sometimes laggy and/or inconsistent user experience. It's one of the big points iOS has over Android.
Obvious because the long delay in Google and manufacturers initially releasing ICS is a clear indicator that there were/are more inherent complexities or issues to overcome in ICS than ever before. So it really was clear from the start that ICS wasn't turning out quite the darling 'one OS to rule them all' (GB & HC) Google hoped, and manufacturers sre still struggling with it.

So JB will be the ICS Google wanted all along. No matter how you look at it that's a good thing :-)

Wow that was big fail, where was new features. Also it was kind a fun how google admit how android is laggy. They even showed it with extra slow camera :)

if they can stop the laggying thru this update it wil be great, but im sure after the other companies add their skin on it (HTC Sense/Touchwiz) they will kill it... i like it the way it is right now but unfortunately the specifications do sucks ,,, lets wait and see

JB does boast some cool features, shame that based on previous experience with android updates, my GS3 will be lucky to see it before November at the earliest.

Nice but if JB can come to all phones with ICS in quick time that'd be great.

JB looks really cool ... especially the new notifications section and google now and new google maps which uses gyrometer ... awesome.

But the new camera section looks exact replica and copy of windows camera section. Could have done better here google.

Ok, so google chose to revamp under the hood. welcome.

I wish the OEMs are quick enough to apply their own 'skins' over this and release to the customers.

It shall be more exiciting when guys at XDA tweak these features to a different level altogether.

Also Nexus7 will receive direct updates from Google and with low price tag, many consumers will have the latest update.
