800 charging cycles leaving 80% battery health is not too impressive as they've already used two batteries (at least VOOC doesn't generate as much heat as conventional chargers)
Probably also not friendly to your power outlet. May consume as much electricity as your fridge or washing machine 😃 (just kidding but maybe true)

The sadest thing is you get lower battery degradation compared to slow or slower "quick" charging methods.

When the phone is idle, it really should not consume the battery. GPS doesn't need to be on when you don't need it, and live wallpaper? lol. I restrict all apps from 'autostart' and 'start in background'. My phone has 4000 mAh battery, using 5V/2A charger and I never have to worry about running out. Then again, I don't play games.

Insane that you get almost half the battery with a 5 min charge. This is a life saver in many situations. My OP8 pro charging at 30W looks like a joke in front of this.

Charging fast is great for some occasions, in my case, maybe once a week), but having a bigger battery it's much more important, even if adds weight to the phone or thickness.
I have a Huawei P30 and it charges at 25watts, it's fast enough for when I am in a hurry and I can count the times where I needed a faster charger. It has a 3650mAh battery and I've needed a bigger one a lot more times than I needed a very fast charger.
You don't have a socket nearby, the fast charger will do nothing.
I charge my phone with a 2w charger from my old Galaxy S4, it's fast enough for my daily charging.
I miss those days when I had my Galaxy S4 and I had two spare batteries and I just swapped them in one minute to have full battery again...

I had a Realme x50 pro 5G with 65w charger . I never felt that it was more hotter than my wife's XS max with its 15w charger while charging . But overtime battery degradation is something to acknowledge.

I think 10% a year is a lot to lose on battery capacity. Then again, most people change their phone after 2 years.
I like to charge my phone over night anyway. Also, I would prefer a bigger battery such as 5-6000 mAh. I guess I'm old fashioned:)

Alternatively, if you charged it from 0% to 100% twice a day, you would lose 10% in a year, roughly speaking.
So for most people, it'll be fine, hence why this is a reality and not just a marketing stunt.
This technology is real people, stop with the fear mongering.

That max 40° C doesn't sound right. Even with old school 5V/2A batteries normally get to 38° C in the initial charging stage.

Yea and in 6 months you'll need a new battery as the charge will go 41-0% in 5 minutes.
