YUKI93, 04 Aug 2020I do hope that the Mate 40 Pro can retain the same superb p... moreIts because they choose to crop the lens view & upscale res in 12.5mp mod, whereas previous Mate 30 were just a simple Quad Bayer pixel-binned setup. These Mate 40 likely to use same setup as P40 unfortunately.
I do hope they can solve it by using an advance image algorithm, trick the processing in order to get that best sharpness + NR details just like Mate 30 Pro has.

Huawei upgrade their phones every half year unlike many others, biggest one for me will be lens on main camera, those in p40's were quite downgrading... with improved processing and full sensor usage, jump in quality will be visible. Hopefully they will also improve colors as even with new sensors it lags behind xperia...

The corners are waaay to rounded.
But even if it is the best build smartphone the lack of gsm its gonna stop me considering this one.
It is very annoying. I guess i wil be stuck with the p30 pro for a long time.
