Anything but the flash player. The only reason I buy android is that it is the sole OS that supports flash player....

Meh... I sure won't miss it much.
There were some sites that used Flash, but it never really worked well besides streaming videos from sites like Nasa.
It's totally rubbish for touch driven web applications, tried it and it failed miserably.
I agree with Jobs on this one, but for Jobs' own good he shouldn't have had such a long vision into the future and should just accept Flash, even if only for a brief moment.
Same goes for USB!
Yes, Mr. now late Jobs, USB is redundant because WiFi is here, but there are situations where USB is needed (although they are very few).

I don't understand one thing. Why is lack of flash support in every gsmarena review noted as Main disadvantage when it's allready dead like symbian!!!!
You should stop doing that gsmarena. FLASH IS DEAD FOR MOBILE. Accept that and don't put lack of flash in MAIN DISADVANTAGE

Flash certainly is / was a selling point, one of the main reasons for dumping nokia!.
Well, there's only 1 thing for it... Windows version 9 please, one that both runs on both my phone and my PC.. without very little differences please...

Html5 uses more battery life than flash and requires more cpu usage. Just seems crazy to me.

nekko, 29 Jun 2012Haha.. Android have not acquire enough cores and battery ju... moreEr... you do realise Android has predominantly dual and quad core, right? And that to my knowledge, ONLY Android currently offers phones with more than 2 cores? And flash is considered "archaic" according to GSMArena, so the older phones should still run it anyway? Nice to see a well-thought-out argument on the internet as usual.

I never understood this dark war.
Flash player remains the best way to show videos and other similar objects on a browser.
If they consider it archaic, then why dont we show improved technologies taking the mantle?
Evolution should not be imposed by force, it comes by natural selection.
And the big question is, why would Abobe want to lose that war and be replaced by another company?
As customers, it is in our interest for two or more companies to compete for the best solution.
Adobe seems to be winning this war hands down and now they just commit suicide? Why?
There has to be a hidden financial interest behind it, smth related to rights and costs.

No lag on my note and no performance issues.
What I dont understand is that you can disable it anyway if you dont want to use it.
Too much of a battery drain? Games like gta3 that push the cores will run the batty down quick.
To suddenly stop all future downloads for people with froyo up to ics but still keep existing users with minor updates is odd.

TMach, 29 Jun 2012Seriously? Did you even understand the article? Obviously n... moreSeriously! Why do you think they would drop flash if not for a reason? Androids adorned flash as it made them a worthy replacement of computers. Why suddenly drop it if they were able to properly implement it? Even with the advent of quad cores they still don't believe flash will run properly so they decided to abandon it. Don't be suprised if Android 5.0 Krepe or Kwhatever decides to abandon multitasking because Android simply not optimised enough to multitask properly.

I think it's time to move on... google should have already done some precautions regarding not using flash. HTML 5 is faster and takes less power to operate so i guess it's not a bad thing in the end to stop flash on android.

It will be annoying for a while. However any step that helps kill Flash off the face of the web is a good thing. Flash went off the frontpage of our site 4 years ago.
