Weekly poll: Did the Galaxy Note20, Note20 Ultra and Z Fold2 live up to expectations?

09 August 2020
The Notes are the unrivaled stylus champions and the Fold2 brings key improvements, but are there weak spots in the new premium lineup?

Also for 1000$ price, you get many other smartphones with same form factor but better build quality and SD chip and for less price.. Don't even try to justify the stupidity. It's because of these type of people, Companies are getting away with things like no headphones jack, no charger, plastic build at 1K Dollars. Sigh. What a joke.

BigDisplay, 09 Aug 2020Who needs a removable battery nowadays? 🙄 Prefer a 5-6000m... moreNah. You have your powerbank with you.

Everytime a Note is coming my only expectations is the price will be so high. They surely did live up to mine.

"No, the Galaxy Note S20 Ultra is worth the extra money"

That right there. It's the end goal of the Note S20. It's not there to be sold, at least that isn't its prime objective. It's there to push people to buy the more expensive one. Then there will always be people who are smartphone-ignorant but brand followers and buy the slightly cheaper one, good for Samsung. But for everyone else, the goal is to make people think "the Ultra is worth the extra money", and make them spend that extra money.

I forget what the economic strategy is called, but it's a real thing. So people, stop saying the Note 20 sucks, because it is MEANT to suck

BigDisplay, 09 Aug 2020Who needs a removable battery nowadays? 🙄 Prefer a 5-6000m... moreRemovable battery is useful in the long run, when the battery has weakened due to age, you can just buy another battery and replace the battery by yourself, and the phone will be as good as new. It's even more useful for upper middle and high end phones whose hardware can still keep going for 3 or more years. That way you don't have to buy another phone.

The answer to the question in the headline is simply no. Anyway, there's something missing in the voting choices: "no, Galaxy Note 10 is even more worthy to pick up", since it's cheaper and not very much different from Note 20, especially the standard (non-ultra versions).

Dometalican, 09 Aug 2020Ultra is alright (better value than the S20 ultra IMHO) but... moreLike you I dream about a Mate 40 X as a substitute to my Mate 20 X 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

When i bought my Note4 in late 2014 for 600 euro i got a smartphone with the best hardware around , e.g. 1440p.
Now in 2020 for 950euro you need to settle for something "decent" with a 1080p screen....

Not gonna upgrade from my Note8 to Note20: the price is way too high, the camera bump is way too large, there is no 3,5mm headphone jack and no heart rate sensor which I use on a daily base. Those are the main reasons not to buy either of the Note20's for me. I don't care about the chipset, here it's the Exynos that we get. Other than that, the phones look great except for the camera hump, especially the copper color version. So, maybe in another year with the Note30, let's see.

ALPHABOY17, 09 Aug 2020At least those devices had removable battery... Who needs a removable battery nowadays? 🙄
Prefer a 5-6000mAh over this for sure.
I have 5000mah in my Mate 20 X, and have power for around 1½ days, much smarter 👌🏻And no extra battery in my pocket, win win😋

Hmm so disappointed with Samsung new formula for Note 20s. Possibly the company wants a trial for ending Note Series. In my opinion Note Series would be gone in 2022 for Galaxy 40 Ultra with S Pen interaction

I was expecting finally note 20 without curved display with relatively compact size, left disappointed.

Again nothing for people who want great camera, good battery, jack, relatively small dimensions and no curved display, no asymmetric punch hole. No improvement over S20, heck I'm willing even to give up jack and there is nothing available.

talha5007, 09 Aug 2020agree, i'm too using Note4 since April 2015, wanted to... moreCoudn't agree more. I forget to mention plastic back and price tag issues and 60hz screen for standart note 20.
I really like s pen and taking note because of my work required to do so but for this kind of money and issues note 20 and if samsung will not learn note series is ended for me and probably for most loyal note users.
Of course they will sell to the people who didn't have note device in the past and has no idea about the issues but for real users out there note 20 and note 20 ultra is joke.
I had original note and note 2 then when note 3 came out snapdragon version has 4k video recording but exynos didn't so i skipped because i want best of best. Note 4 was that best of best when it lunched unfortunately new note series is not even go for top 3 phones in my opinion.
I mean look at xiaomi with upcoming mi 10 ultra; 120watt wired charging and 65 watt wireless charging. O hope xiaomi will release it worldwide so it will be my next daily smartphone.

The ONLY thing I was waiting about the Note20 was the 3D Sonic Max fingerprint scanner that Samsung failed to choose, as usual they don't care about anything else than profits, even if it mean lesser security for their phone and not helping the most secure and practical fingerprint scanner to be known and adopter/copied.
And I don't care about folding smartphones that I found stupid.

bbbcomrade, 09 Aug 2020Sorry but samsung you need to learn; I have note 4 since o... moreagree, i'm too using Note4 since April 2015, wanted to buy Note7, then didnt liked Note8 and note9.
finally the Note20 series looked promising, and hoped that after S20's exynos issues will force samsung to give Snapdragon to all regions, but not only samsung pushed Exynos990 apart from SD865+ but also a whooping price tag. Note20 vanilla is a joke with $1000 price tag which gives you FHD, 60hz and Gorilla Glass5 and alot of other features downgraded. in freaking $1000 price... unbelievable.
for sure samsung will lose alot of Note users by their arrogance.

Was hoping a flat screen note since n
