However the few phones that used ceramic did not see mass adoption so the material has been largely forgotten about. We need more people to buy non-mainstream devices, or invest in higher end devices to show manufactures what we want.

There is no scenario where all can be happy, when samsung's devices had plastic backs, there were people ranting about "why cheap materials, glass is the best way to go" , later, when cristal was used, many began to complain about"cristal is bad because it cracks easily, and it is very expensive to repair cracked devices" so, it is clear that there will always be complaints regardless what companies do, or not do
