The Xiaomi PR images are fake. The tv can not show black.
Pixels can be transparent or light up (or anything in between), they can NOT block light.
Live demonstrations have dark backgrounds behind the tv for that reason. If there was a bright background you wouldn’t be able to see the image.

120Hz screen with 93% DCI-P3 coverage on a TV is definitely an interesting proposition, but at $7200? I'll stick with my dual QHD 144Hz PC monitor.

Don't want to say it, but this is absolutely a gimmick. I wouldn't buy it for personal use if I could, but this would look fantastic in a museum, airport or even a restaurant.

They didn't add anything to the mix. Design doesn't count. They didn't add new features. They didn't turn it into another kind of product. They didn't simplify it either. So what is worthy of being called innovation here?

Innovation doesnt have to always mean an absolute new product.
You sometimes utilize an existing product and add features to make it more valuable, or sometimes you can simplify it by removing some unnecessary features

If the technology can be adapted to eye glasses or windshields it could have uses, especially if it can be modified to show the image on only one side.
