Can you explain that screenshot? I didn't understand how there's a "your device is not compatible" error on the screen at the same time as a progress bar showing the installation progress lol

Call recording should be a silent option. But loud system alert about recording notifying other side caller to take preventive action. Not helping.

All that I want is for them to finally introduce call recording. The feature was spotted in the app’s code earlier this year, yet no new developments since then.

Anonymous, 12 Aug 2020You mean it doesn't follow system sound settings? What I meant was the dialler has no volume control. It's either max volume, or zero. No in-between.

The reason I said it is a safety hazard is that all other phones (that I have owned at least) have the dial-tone volumes adjustable. But in an emergency someone might get someone else's Pixel phone and try calling emergency services. But not realise / know that the bug with Google's Dialler will be very loud, and potentially put them in harm's way.

Google's been super in-our-face with COVID-19 awareness (and that's a good thing). But surely this dialler issue can be quickly rectified with a simple update? It's been an issue for years, yet here we are.

I have a Pixel 3a and it's my first time going full-Google hardware. Hardware is fine, but the software experience definitely needs more polish. What I find most disappointing is Google is the head-poncho, the company who manages the Android OS. But there are third party OEMs who just polish software better. And that's probably why this Pixel 3a is going to be my first, and last, Google hardware...

Someone enlighten me. Why would I want this app? I already have a built in dailer and TruCaller app the blocks spam calls.

Anonymous, 12 Aug 2020ExactlyI have a gaming phone that ignores basic phone functions like the Nubia Red Magic 3, this is why I am interested in a bare bone phone app that actually works as advertised.

Tried the app just for the heck of it. It's vastly inferior to the one on my Galaxy Note 10+. Dare I call it a needless POS app.

The app is great and it's also great to see it finally available without restrictions on all Androids. Now the question is, WHY IS IT SO SLOW? Animations are slow, launching it is slow, finding contacts is slow. I have a SnapDragon 845 based OnePlus 6 which is a very fast phone and otherwise I have no issues with any other apps but the Google Phone app for some reasons is slow as molasses.
