SteveFOX, 12 Aug 2020At this price it's simply not an attractive buy. $899... moreIt needed to be expensive enough to blame on that the flop.

This device doesn't need to be offended in any way-saying that it is a Microsoft product is enough as an offend :D

I can sort of understand SD855 - basically their hand was forced by the power hungry 2-chip design and captive-audience pricing from Qualcomm. 6GB RAM is weak for a seemingly enterprise-targeted device that presumably was intended to have an extended availability in the market. No expandable storage?!

$1399 to start?!! Either they are insanely confident in their software, have lost all touch with reality, or have tacked a 'Nokia-loss recovery' charge on the BOM. I was expecting ~$1000, but seeing what they came up with $6-700 is all I might consider paying.

AAA, 12 Aug 2020Let's see how many unit is sold... That's easy, you need just your two hads to count the ammount of sold Microsoft phones.

What is the use of something like this?

Microsoft prices this at high price to be "cool"

Its worth more like $179 in bargain bin

                        wow.. he ugly

I'm totally disappointed with Microsoft at how they have priced the Surface Duo.
All the marketing and recategorizing of the Duo as NOT being a phone is not fooling anybody.
I look forward to Surface Duo 3.

U.S. only. Glad I didn't optimize my apps for Duo for that!

                              $899 - sure.
$1399 is insane considering this has a single mediocre camera, last gen specs and pretty slim battery and slow charging.
Why did MS even bother releasing this?

Worth like 400 euro at the best I think. Let's even not say what you can get instead for that 400.

Poor camera, poor design, poor performance,... If only price was right. Is this The best from Microsoft?

Probably 1000 € above the espected price for the type of the device.

TechEnthusiast, 12 Aug 2020SD855 is out of date? You are talking like it was launched ... moreAnd this phone is not priced like a last gen product
That's what this is all about. 600-700 might've Been good, but at this price, I expect nothing less than bests available.

This device is targeted towards the enterprise market, so your opinions about price, performance and features don't really matter. If you don't like it, get a consumer device and get on with your life, because most people don't need a foldable phone in the first place and this is a niche device.
