Also this type of problems cannot be 100% avoided anyways.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2020I don't think anyone is saying Huawei is perfect, not ... more..Accepted that you can't get what you didn't own in the first place. If that means only certified devices are allowed to be sold in your country, or all devices have to be examined, and all updates examined (at governments sole expense) so be it!

Of course the Americans knew, his are they going to hack your phone without you knowing. That is the place where you would put them, because nobody normally would be interested in looking there. Now all the .... are going to look at the new drivers and we going land up with hackers aswell. I imagine that the hardware makes it possible. This spells trouble for the American chip market. The Chinese will just push ahead with their own. Arm might be better off moving their design centre back to England, or to Iceland, to avoid foreign contracts being caught up in technology bans. Soon, leading tech will be off shore. The manufacturing tools will be off shore, and frankly banning use of manufacturing tools after sale because they might be used to manufacture devices for undesirable, is something that could be appealed to various trade treaty organisations etc, nasty stuff. Because treaties give them big sanctions.

PepperPot, 14 Aug 2020You guys are killing me. Huawei is not facing criticism bec... moreI don't think anyone is saying Huawei is perfect, not all.
I think what people are not happy with is the hypocrisy displayed by the western countries.
When their companies get caught up in such issues, to them it's okay but when a Chinese company is caught up, they claim it's a deliberate move to leave backdoors.
All companies should be judged using the same standards and held accountable the same way not this double standards we normally see.

You guys are killing me. Huawei is not facing criticism because of security vulnerabilities. lol

The other day a report from Australia found Huawei built a data center for PNG that was riddled with security flaws. Were they incompetent or was it intentionally designed to be exploited without detection? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but based on the comments I've read below, Huawei is perfect. They are best of the best so where does that leave us?

This report does not imply Qualcomm did anything to gain access to personal user info. It sounds like their coders got a little too complacent or they were incompetent. Did Garmin purposely leave themselves vulnerable so hackers from Russia could exploit them for millions of dollars? C'mon now, there is a difference here.

Samath N8 808 owner, 14 Aug 2020Let me guess? Things only NSA should have access to? At least, they are doing their initiative on protecting privacy rights.

For the first time in years I am happy with having an Exynos SoC in my phone. LOL

I hate these security firms for exposing backdoors.
