17 August 2020
Gorilla Glass Victus scratches at a level 6 with deeper grooves at a level 7 on Mohs scale of hardness.

Love Samsung's push with the Ultrasonic scanner. Hopefully better implmentation means the optical scanners will be phased out for ultrasonics.

GG Victus' USP is increased drop resistance, along with better microscratches resistance (this isn't shown in a scratch test). Everyone knows that, thanks to these overpublicized videos, GG scratches at lv.6. No need to repeat that. The focus should have been on the new USP (plus the stainless steel) instead of recycling the same thing over and over.

L.O.R.D, 17 Aug 2020Glass is glass and it breaks, as said by the reviewer. Why ... moreBecause that's Corning's job and not [OEM]? There are other materials out there like ceramic and sapphire, but I don't think I have to spell it out to you why these are seldom used...

GAMIRSFM, 17 Aug 2020He never dropped tested it, im more interested in that.Same, I'm waiting to see how the latest Gorilla Glass performs in the drop test, and although it may resist a few more drops than the current glass, it'll eventually break

Glass is glass and it breaks, as said by the reviewer. Why don't companies innovate in that area instead of adding more cameras and performance that not everybody requires

I like how JerryRigEverything's durability test videos could've easily fit into 1 minute if it containted only relevant info, e.g.:
                  - just say it's [version of the glass] so regular 6/7 scratches (boom, 5 seconds instead of 2 minutes)
                  - scratch just one side of the phone (either it's plastic on all sides or glass on all sides like wtf, again can be done with in 5 seconds)

Also burn test... Really? Would've been far better if he got some objective bending device (that would show an actual pressure aplied instead of relying on how big Zack's breakfast was) or did some fall/water damage tests instead...

Soo uhh its cool or not

I really wanted it to scratch at a level 7 with deeper groves at a level 8...
