If that rectangle in the middle is the persicope than what is the square in the lower left? This camera setup maybe of Pro+ with rectangle being 10x optical zoom and that square/rectangle casing will be hidden and only the circle might be visible and a rumor suggested main camera will be 50MP with liquid lens + 80MP UW +Periscope + ToF for Pro while vanilla will get 50MP+20MP UW+8MP telephoto and Laser AF both will be powered by Kirin 9000 and will have 90hz screen LG curved for vanilla and waterfall LG and BOE for Pro and batteries will be 4300, 4600 and 5000 (no mention which model gets which) and there will be FaceID too

That looks like it's just a generic glass camera protector. The "3D" word and peeling instructions give it away. The square part is for handling the protector while you apply it.

How is that middle rectangle going to be a periscope lens? There isn't enough room between the other lenses and you can clearly see the bottom left is the square periscope lens.

Nice Huawei. Finally a good looking phone. Can't wait to try it out. Best of luck to Huawei and China. Luckily parts of Europe don't care about US stand on the China conflict and go their own way.

Are you that blind? It is very visible from the moon that the glass panel for the mate 40 is not symmetrical with the rectangular glass and its out of center.
The outer square is obviously some kind of casing for the main circular module.

I think that are its glass cover that later on fused to the glass body, where it wont show the square parts (the circular render looks like the final design).
108mp? Unlikely.
It will be using same 1/1.28" 50mp as P40 Pro, but yes with freeform 9P lens.
It will also the first smartphone camera that will be using 'liquid lens' tech (crazy fast autofocus).

Its kinda amazing Huawei actually succeeded in making of an even larger and uglier camera bump that the s20 Ultra.

The revealed screen protector from a while back told me those renders (for at least the pro) are fake. I think the Pro is either somehow gonna sport an under-display camera or even a pop-up cam. Camera bump looks ugly but function>form. Imagine saying: "wow...that camera array looks so pretty...it MUST be the phone of the year!" lol
I slap cases on the phones for protection anyway so even if the hopeful Mate 40X gets this, it won't bother me much.
