IpsDisplay, 19 Aug 2020Dude the Vivo apex 2020 variable zoom lens is being shared ... moreMaybe, if Oppo's zoom is the same, but definitely not to the same extent. If you look at their phones for the last year or so they are quite different from Oppo/Realme/Oneplus and they don't share production facilities with the others as they have their own manufacturing facilities. Oneplus and Realme for example use Oppo wallet and pay and Oneplus uses Breeno, Oppo's ai assistant and they use Oppo's charging. Vivo has its own solutions

jNO, 19 Aug 2020These weekly launches clearly show that BBK does little to ... moreThey seem to follow Xiaomi most of the times... be it 48mp camera trend after Redmi Note 7... or about competing with same SoC based launches.... to launching SD855 based flagships based on POCO device and now this 120 Hz refresh rate display after MI 10 Ultra was launched recently

Oneplus and Realme are subsidiaries of Oppo so Oppo controls them, shares technology and resources with them and even manufactures Oneplus phones but Vivo is a separate company and doesn't appear to have any significant shareholding in the other 3. BBK seems to function more as a holding company

jNO, 19 Aug 2020These weekly launches clearly show that BBK does little to ... moreBBK has unimaginable amount of resources. From people, money, factories. Oppo, Vivo, Realme and OnePlus did their own research and share those across sibling companies. Each company with their own speciality.
And they have been done this for soooo long, until this time they can bring up something new really fast and flooding market with phones every week.
It's annoying but the strategy works. BBK is number 1 smartphone manufacturer if all company combined into one name.

jNO, 19 Aug 2020These weekly launches clearly show that BBK does little to ... moreThey are playing a different game altogether. With short product cycle they take advantage of the free publicity, so they are perpetually in the news cycle. Also, this means they can rapidly incorporate the newest (if incremental) technology, and have low overhead with lower inventory (in effect, every product is a limited edition). Apple and Samsung stick to the 1-year product cycle, the other guys are aiming for 2 or 3 product cycles per year.

Launching new mobiles every week with some gimmicky features that doesn't influence most day to day basis usage smh...instead they should give better long term software and security support and optimize existing phones
