Samsung themselves have been using Sony sensors in flagships year after year, apart from the new 108MP sensor that was made in collaboration with Xiaomi.

      Xiaomi gets their panels from Visionox, TCL, EverDisplay and BOE. Samsung is no longer the default supplier of AMOLED panels.

      The big companies usually gets lazy, Samsung, Apple etc. Lazy. If they see something new and exciting they just buy it. I.e. when Apple bought in 2012 the company (AuthenTec Inc) that Motorola started implementing the FP readers of in 2011. And boom all praised Apple for TouchID, when all they did was to buy a company and keep their products from their competition. Innovation? Not really.

      As far as current smartphone trends go, Samsung is a follower, not an innovator. The Chinese lead on the innovation giving us significantly larger batteries, bigger screens and improving screen-to-body ratios etc.

      Samsung and Apple was happy serving us phones with tiny screens with fat bezels and thin devices with lousy battery life until the Chinese came and showed how things should be done. Samsung followed suit after a while and very slowly after, so did Apple also on some of their devices.

Why when Apple went Amoled it started charging alot more for their devices? I have had Amoled devices since S2 and to this day I have never suffered this 200 percent degradation.

        And regarding Exynos im sure Motorola or someone used their CPU's recently ;) and you never know if Huawei cant make Kirin and can't use Snapdragon then Exynos is their main one they can get.

        So yeah people still using the best :D

          By looks of it, here you'll see when camera's in use since you'll be able to see it as well. At least I hope so. Besides, it's not difficult to put in HW based notification... hope makers will.

They would never use heavily degrading components like ORGANIC LEDs would they? Oh wait, they do, I wonder why.

            They don't use Samsung because it's "the best", they use Samsung because they produce AMOLED panels which degrade about 200% faster than LCD tech.

If you saying Samsung arent good you basically admitting Apple, Xiaomi, Huawei and others buy rubbish from Samsung.

              But Samsung themselves said awhile ago that they will let other companies push tech foward they will not always be the best in displays and camera.

              Samsung did alot for smartphones and they still do now, Huawei has recently in the last 3 years started doing alot mostly to do with camera's and thats due to their work with Leica. Xiaomi in the last 2 or 3 years too.

              But Samsung for alot longer.

                        Interesting indeed. Perhaps the holy grail. Somehow I still lean to pop up solution as it's better in regards to privacy/ spying.

                                    Put it in mi mix 4 please before mi 11.

                                      Really great !
                                      Selfie punch hole (notch) screens are really annoying in movies and gameing.
                                      I saw a xiaomi under display camera sample video. The screen quality was lower in the camera sample below the screen. Especially lower color warmth.

                                        I'll only buy this tech if available with microled displays. Smokers can go hell with their tint, degradation and burn problems.
