Smartphones have pretty much robust security to the point that the weakest link being the user themselves or the platforms in between the smartphones and the server (Yahoo), for example: public wifi networks or compromised private networks, inside job (malicious server admin), aging platform/encryption algorithm, etc.

      lol these guys XD

its not like that you have a nuclear code inside your phone and the hackers wants to hack inside your phone..

even if you have the latest security update if someone wants he can easily hack inside your phone.. if china can hack into most secure secreat data of f35 in the lockheed martin company.. you think hackers cant breach your phone ..lol

even if there is no security update you are still fine.. unless you are working for secreat gov agency that has billion dollar worth of secreat data inside your phone..

Jack + 40h of reading on battery, last one was in 2016. Hopefully there is some progress.

Also, if you are using your phone 5 years without security updates and didn't have any security problems, doesn't mean is safe to use it all the time like this. Again, that is just ignorance. Is like saying : "Oh look, this didn't happen until now, so it will never happen to me.."
I had my email account hacked after 15 years. Created it in 2001 (without any second security measures, just password protected), got hacked in 2016 by some person in China, according to the Yahoo official confirmation.
But, what do I know, I am just a guy on the internet. Keep using your smartphone without any security updates..you will be just fine. lol.

Android.Master, 29 Aug 2020Most people don't care about about security updates on... moreSo, if his/her security update theory goes out the window, what about yours?
You Android fanboys will laugh at Apple for not having widgets (like that will be some kind of important thing), but say that security updates are not an issue and not important, just because your precious OS doesn't have any.
Would you let your house/apartment door open at night? Or your car unlocked in the parking lot? Why is that the phone (the most important piece of hardware in the world right now) should be considered not important to have security and security updates?
              That's just ignorance.
Keep using your "perfect" unsecured OS and phones.

Tablets and 32 GB is such a bad combo. 64 GB should be the starting point.

Plenty of People operating Android phones from years back (lacking latest security updates) without any problems.

There are Plenty of people with latest security updates who are more at a risk.
Remember the fappening scandal? I am pretty sure all of them kept their phones with latest security updates yet they were easily hacked.

How secure someone's phone is depends upon the user, not the OS and certainly not some overrated security updates pushed by manufacturers. So your essential security updates theory goes out of the window.

If only it were priced €40 less. And 32gb for the base model is kinda pathetic in 2020. Otherwise it's a good tablet.

I hope they update the Tab A 8.0 with a FHD screen too. 720p at 8.4" is pathetic. Even my two 4-5 year old tablets have higher resolution screens that I bought new for under €150. (Though the processors are outdated as hell now and I really need an upgrade.........Please Samsung, you are the only one left!)

I wish Samsung would create a 2021 version of the Samsung Fold 18.4inch tablet with a Ryzen processor inside, with a 6-8Gb graphics card. It could be a great replacement for a production laptop for professionals.

It'd be wise for them to add the S-Pen to all their tablets to differentiate at any given price point. I wouldn't mind a budget tablet with one.
