The Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro feature Nokia OZO Audio processing

28 August 2020
And so does the Asus ROG Phone 3. OZO algorithms are behind features like Wind Filter and Mic Focus.

Sadly its only Nokia OZO Audio "Processing"... I hoped for the initial instance "Recording".
The tests show that the OnePlus 8 Pro has bad Volumerecording quality while having OZO too. Instead of that the Volume Recording of the Nokia 7.2 is great.
The ROGphone 2 had poor Audiorecording too, lets see what microphones Asus is using for ZF7pro...

Chamfered, 29 Aug 2020Can't believe people are still crying about the jack. ... moreNice 3.5mm jack AND USB-C AND 5000mAh battery and all the rest on Zf6Pro.

Anybody who has done any smartphone design knows that the "space" argument is just FoS.

And dongles break, get lost, don't pass MIC-information properly, don't pass vol up / vol down properly and have really low amplification levels for REAL headphones (unless you buy $150USD USB-C adapter).

And you can't rechard and listen to at the same time with USB-C headphones (unless you buy the crappy Sony USB-C split headphone/recharging adapter, which is crap quality).

Anonymous, 30 Aug 2020This phone uses Samsung display, Sony camera, Nokia Audio..... moreWhat monopoly? There are several companies who make oled panel, camera lens, and audio technologies. You know, it is just a economy concept of oligopoly, mostly applied to high tech company. But if you think monopoly, you might think about software, the biggest player can copy new popular apps easly because the cost of making that is relative cheap. See facebook, ig, whatsapp, or maybe free ms teams in o365 subscription (direct competitor slack, zoom).

someone123, 30 Aug 20201. There are no duty taxes on smartphones in the EU, just V... more1.1 Doesn't matter when the market price is higher. Look at any tech items, US$ 50 and €50 ain't the same, which near all tech vendors like to sell same flat price between US and EU, regardless of the exchange rate different. Not to mention, it often doesn't get discounted as much nor price adjustment for outdated products. Excluding products made by EU, which again goes back to my original statement they're protected by EU.
1.2 It a metaphor buddy, I don't mean actual distance but the item and price offering.
1.3 I've buy in US domestically few time to know about the tax issue. Given the often and massively discounted pricing, it will workout cheap in the end.

All this argument is meaningless, go search historical pricing of Zenfone6 in EU on Amazon and online shop in Taiwan. Alternatively you can wait for your €500 in EU.

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2020Keep on dreaming... Two things going to bust your bubble: ... more1. There are no duty taxes on smartphones in the EU, just VAT. The inflated prices mostly come from the VAT and greed. However, the sellers do have to keep stock for warranty and manage 'no-reason' returns.
1.1 I have no idea what kind of "distance" you mean by Amazon Prime. I usually get packages delivered the second day, it rarely takes 2 days.
1.3 Please note that in US you pay taxes differently, AFTER you buy the item. Look up "state and local sales tax".

Too late. Sounds good but behind the rest. I had the zenfone 6 and loved the speed and design of the phone, but had to move on to another phone. Asus didn't support phone with VoLTE or WiFi calls causing many frustrated customers. Just look at complaints of bad connections, dropped calls or missing text messages. ATT and TMobile both said they will require VoLTE in 2021 and still it hasn't happened for a phone only 1 yr old. I had to go for a Samsung Galaxy S10 Light and am loving the fact I get better signal and less dropped calls. Its a phone first and foremost so it needs to make calls!

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2020u can use adaptor for any purpose. gimbal / cam zoom/ xtra ... moreNo point on arguing bro... People laugh over people still wanting 3.5mm headphone jack simply has never being in the pinnacle usage of headphones, that a fact. Fact: The best of *any* wireless headphone can only to make to the mid-high premium of the corded headphone... Go and Simply look at Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic and among several other that still don't bother to make a wireless headphone that remotely cost close to the most expensive wireless headphone. Even Sony MDR-Z1R cost 4x more than the WH-1000XM4.

Fact 2, with the given current wireless tech on *anything*, it still can't beat cord. Look at networking, never mind bandwidth, latency which is a highly important factor for audio will always be worse.

Fact 3, it technically harder and probably cost more to implement a better wireless solution that will be on the same level as corded, again, on almost *any* wireless tech. Give you a gaming environment and connectivity of AC1800 Wifi or Gb Ethernet, which one will you chose? Or N600 vs 100Mb Ethernet?

All the wireless freaks can argue all you want, there's a reason in industrial/enterprise space cord is still preferred. Whether it in recording studio, gamer, audiophile, etc. Wireless is an alternative in situation where is easier/more convenient. Beside, it one's preference and decision, who you to argue it better when in actual fact, it not.

                        1. I can't think of one thing Europe is ever cheaper, compare to rest of the world. EU is so busy to protecting their local company, there's barely enough competition. Even Amazon Prime day US vs EU is miles apart.

                        2. Historically Asus has being selling their Zenfone cheapest in Taiwan.

realme is making hardhit in all segments.lucky for samsung that none of realme has flagship level cam and ip rating, yet in midrange 120hz display and 65 w charger are way beyond compitition. samsung m series m31 , 21, 31s sucess formula need to be replicated in higher end if samsung needs to survive.xiomi mi 10 ultra is what a real phone flagship is.. its aiming to be new huawei except that xiomi always thinks itself too inferior and never aims higher. but mi10 ultra and 98 inch tv are real boost to xiomi. if xiomi market team if has even 10 percent brain will think over about need of good flagships..
samsung will bring back 3.5 jack with dac on its s21 and will make everyother phones a fool. its pity that asus too following this trend of no 3.5jack.
