Boggy-Stefy, 31 Aug 2020I would buy an iphone, Samsung, Sony or Pixel phone any day... moreIt's OK if you make a choice as a person to not buy American, Chinese, South African, any phones for any reason. I think it doesn't belong here, though. This is technology site in the first place. Consider it's visited by people from other regions than you are with both political and economic point of view. Using some nation as an argument here is not correct. That's all I want to say. (btw I never bought Realme)

Question to the product team of Realme X7 series:
Why X7 series? Why not x4 or X60 since Realme previously had x3 and x50?

Answer: The 7 is chosen because the designed color for this phone series is very similar to the famous "Color 7" of Oppo. 7 is also a very playful word to be used in advertisement. But the primary purpose is to be far away from our previous phones so that we will have an uncluttered naming space for our future 5G phones.

chris1998, 31 Aug 2020I'm not lying though. Realme isn't a sub brand of... moreIncorrect. BBK is just an umbrella owner of many companies including Vivo, Oppo, and many other companies that are not smartphone related. BBK does not operate as a typical business because it does not have direct managerial involvement in the companies it owns. There is no cooperate strategy at the BBK level. At the operational level, Vivo and Oppo are two completely independent companies, unrelated, with a business relationship like a peer, not like a sibling.

Oppo fully owns OnePlus and Realme. OnePlus or Realme has no direct relationship with either BBK or Vivo.

45 million Indians around the world tho... 😅😁

Some serious restructuring among Oppo, Realme, and OnePlus is underway since June, 2020. Some level of re-integration of Realme into Oppo has been hinted (leaked) in various forums. Realme's high management feel its position vs its peers is being seriously disadvantaged due to its continued engagement with legacy 4G, while all its peers are already deep in the next phase of smartphone development (beyond 5G smartphones). Realme is therefore reorienting itself towards 5G markets, with resources re-directed towards 5G products, and will gradually reduce its engagement with legacy 4G. At some point in the near future (in a few months), production of 4G phones will be phased out, since 4G smartphone production is no longer effectively supported by smartphone supply-chain.

This new Realme will be defined by its New 5G smartphone line, with new aesthetic language and design orientations, representing a clean separation from its previous smartphone products. This new 5G line will have only two series for now: V series (for budget 5G phones) and X series (for higher-end 5G phones). The naming scheme used for this new line will have no relationship with previous Realme smartphones. In other words, X7 series is not in any way related to x2, x3, x50 or any other previous Realme smartphones.

Sadly, people are deceived very quickly by their low prices. Like that should be the only important thing when buying a phone.
Software and day to day experience are really sh**ty. Especially after important Android updates.
                                Chinese phones never again.

Some information regarding Realme presented in some write-ups on this website needs to be corrected.

Madhav Sheth is the CEO of Realme(India), not the CEO of Realme which is headquartered in China. Realme(India) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Realme. Madhav Sheth has been tasked to play the role of a spokesperson for Realme in India, but Madhav Sheth is not directly involved in product development or planning, which is done by Realme(headquarter). Realme was previously tasked by Oppo to compete primarily against Xiaomi (Redmi) in two markets, the south Asia and the south east Asia. The most products developed were intended for these two market. Most Realme related interviews conducted by this website have been with Madhav Sheth, giving the wrong impression that Madhav Sheth is playing a significant role in shaping the future of Realme, which is not correct. The future of Realme is being shaped by Realme(headquarter), with no significant involvement by Madhav Sheth.

Realme, OnePlus, Vivo and Oppo are all sub brands of BBK electronics. Realme didn't launch properly until 2018. In 2010 Oppo created a sub brand of smartphones called Oppo Real. But I think that was more of a series like the Samsung Galaxy. Samsung Note. Samsung J, Samsung Taco . Please get YOUR facts right before you comment and still give wrong info

also, budget samsung phones has horrible quality in comparison with any other device.
