The global smartphone market to recover in 2022.

A few years ago, Sony and LG made really good phones (I owned a LG G6, Sony Xperia Z3, was q good for the time). Look at Sony's phones rn, it's either a Sony Xperia 1/5 that costs a grand or a crappy midrange phone like Xperia 10. Now their smartphone business is on the decline because they can't catch up with the competition and continues to launch phones at exorbitant prices unlike Samsung that stepped up on its A series for the midrange and budget section or Xiaomi that has several product lines for different markets and price ranges like Mi, Mi MIX, Poco, Redmi.

What about the handicapped nature of widgets on iOS.
Even budget 100$ devices from 2014 can do better than that.

All the greatest parts of the Android OS are absent on iOS.

Little-Wily is frustrated that his 1000 dollar purchase isn't the most technically advanced while being handicapped instead.
Like a handicapped guy watching someone run, you are simply jealous.

Nothing wrong with stating how our android devices are, especially with all latest cutting edge tech. Combined with a superior ecosystem of apps, Just stating facts... Sorry if I touched a nerve... I Guess what I said is true!

That's because Samsung still manufactures a lot of components such as display and its lower and middle range models sell well. A51 is a huge success.

Sad to see Huawei reportedly planning to exit the smartphone segment, though.

And what's with all the weekly/monthly release of chinese models that just have minor differences from earlier ones?

I bought a vivo iqoo Z1 three months ago. I don't like it so I have just bought a Pocophone F2 pro. Because of the affordable prices of these, I can afford to make a mistake. If you make a mistake with a HTC, sony or LG phone, they're stupid expensive to undo that mistake. The software on the Chinese phones is fine. It's not great but it's more than adequate. You don't need constant updates.

Boggy-Stefy, 07 Sep 2020I would rather see Sony there, or LG, or Nokia, or HTC, tha... moreThe reason sony, LG, nokia and HTC are not there is because they are pure rubbish now. It's like they're stuck in a time warp. They produce too few phones and they price them ridiculously high. They have no relevance anymore. You have an argument with the software but the Chinese phones are getting more regular updates now plus the custom rom development on these is very strong now as well. The specs on these phones blow those other brands out of the water I work for a mobile phone network. I started seven years ago. When I started those brands were big now hardly none of their phones are sold by the network.

The only reason this companies are always up there, is because people in China and India buy them and because they have very cheap prices. But their software and day to day usage after some time is very bad. That is why they are releasing model after model.

This business approach screams unprofessional from all angles. No serious company, who cares about its customers, releases so many models in such short period of time.

My last Samsung phone was s5 and i had s2,s3,s4 before that and i just bought galaxy fold gen 1 for 1000 euros and i have to say the oneui is so much better than that crap touchwiz Samsung used years ago. There is still some bloatware tho.

I just hope foldable phones will have some competition in the future because Samsung dominates it for now and sales will be much better when people see that these are not that fragile phones and the price will come down.
