DroidBoye, 10 Sep 2020OLED always has better colors when new. But it loses that c... morePersonally I've used an S10 and had absolutely zero problems with the display so... yeah. At the end of the day you'll forget you're using an AMOLED or LCD, only refresh rate is always noticeable.

Andreidinutu, 11 Sep 2020Well yeah, oled's lose their colors in time, but it is... morePeople use their single smartphone that they rarely even use anymore just to prove their claim for AMOLEDs. It's not a representation of what AMOLEDs are. It's easy to go to Samsung, Reddit and XDA to know the current state of smartphone OLEDs as represented by 1 or 2 year old flagships (these aren't cheap phones) just to see that degradation issues were still there and it always will be because OLEDs are organic. Heck you don't even need to check about 1 year old phone, you can just check 6 months even a month old AMOLEDs that show such issue (from people that abuses their OLEDs due to ignorance). Samsung acknowledged this and they're giving free replacement until your warranty ends, same panel same issues just pay when out of warranty or buy new phone (profit). People tend to overhype OLED capabilities, but that's only when it's new. Color tinting still happens for people that babied their AMOLEDs. For people with complete disregard of what OLEDs are, they'll have burn-ins. Reviews, praises about AMOLEDs were done when brand new, excellent rating, no questions asked but issues? They're being dealt in the forums. Go read them if you have time.

DroidBoye, 10 Sep 2020OLED always has better colors when new. But it loses that c... moreWell yeah, oled's lose their colors in time, but it is done gradually, so you don't notice it. But I agree, it happens, I know people who have tinting problems on an s8, etc. You're right about this
But I don't get it why the s3 neo argument isn't right? As I have used it for about 3 years, 3 to 4 hours per day, and my dad used it 1 year before. Gsmarena says it's an oled, I agree as it had no waves when you put pressure on it, and now it turned 6 years, and yes the last 2 years it's been staying in a drawer
I really don't understand your comment

This is certainly a more interesting phone among all the boring and inconsequential 4G legacy phones of 2020.

Then why are you still here, because Gsmarena praised the displays on the midrange Mi Note 10 Lite and Mi 10 Lite 5G. You, my friend, is the epitome of talking loud but without anything to back up on.

These Poco phones are Asia oriented judging by their supported LTE bands. Useless in North America.
Get a Nubia phone instead - they support most international LTE bands.

LCDs are still being developed and improved up to this day. Organics are being replaced with synthetic alternative as much as possible. OLEDs are basically a dead end tech.

But it loses that color over 1 or 2 years time of usage with utmost care (AMOLED in mind). Color tinting is a real issue on Note 9 owners, a flagship phone with assumed better-binned AMOLEDs from Samsung. Your s3 neo argument is NOT even a valid claim and totally ignores the organic nature of OLED and its finite non-uniform (per color) lifespan and I would bet that that phone spends more time in the drawer than being used. AMOLEDs are basically disposable panels with higher depreciation ratio than LCD with the same pricepoint even Samsung themselves knew that and refuses to use it with their TVs which aims to last more than 5 or even 10 years.

None of that grey shade, no waves when you apply too much pressure, and better colors. Oled is better when it comes to colors, even you have to admit that

Did you ever hear about local dimming, quantum dot, miniLED? OLED burns in. It‘s not as important if you change your phone every 2 years, but the cycles between Upgrades become longer you know.
