People act like consoles are a new breed, in reality, they are gimped down PC's sold at loss for hardware with a view to get you to consume content. You can use office online and social media if you connect a keyboard and a mouse

Don't ma... moreI don't understand what is the difficulty ever since Bluetooth mouses and keyboards started working with smartphones, and even consoles such as Xbox (although it may require USB, not sure 100% sure on Bluetooth there). As long as you can do that job in a web-based service such as Office 365, Google Docs, OnlyOffice/NextCloud/OwnCloud, there really isn't much difference across devices once you connect your monitor/TV, keyboard and mouse.

You need to invest in other parts as well. Processor, motherboard, memory, cooling etc. As for a console you get the complete package.

I always use my PC for that, instead of my smartphone. So, when I was: "What to buy, a PC or a console?" The choice was simple.
Of course, you can have them both (PC and consoles), if you enjoy some exclusives (for PS or Nintendo). But, a Xbox is not that important if you have a PC.
And I rather take that 500EUR+ and improve something in my PC, than buy a separate gadget only for gaming purposes.

On the other hand, you basically buy a console only for one thing. Ok, you can do other things with it (like enter on internet with it or watch Netflix), but is not intended for that.
With this thinking, we all be using only our smartphones, because they can basically do everything, right? Well, actually no.

In countries with poor slow or capped internet.... Good luck downloading hundreds o gigabyte or maybe even a terabyte of game data(4k games) with online only!!!

That all access deal seems interesting as long as the games you get last you 2 years or so. Saves money in the long run as long as you don't buy new games. And it is plug-and-play, no drivers or AV to set up.
I'll still use my PC, though, due to my huge steam library.
