Samsung doesn't hold a candle... moreI think this Xperia S and Ion was only the first test as SONY...this SL could be great because the specs and design wasn't yet confirm but I suspect that better will be when Mint comes, the table may change...we have to wait to see ;)

If their are companies that don't innovate their designs are the ones that I mentioned before! You have Xperia S, Xperia P and U, that share the same design, than u have Xperia Sola, Ion, Acro S, Go, Tipo, Neo L and Miro...so tell me, is Sony not offering many design options? Even this SL is not his final image! And another one called Mint is coming. I think SONY is the best in product and design field... the internals question, maybe you want a quad core, ya?! For what?! Dual core is more then enough and nowadays you even don't scartch his full usage. Many people don't give Sony enough credit but in my opinion is has good as HTC or Samsung with better looks :D

They are superior in the low-middle ranges. But Sony isn't even close to Samsung or HTC when we talk about flagships. Apart from having a very pretty face, the Xperia S is lame as a smartphone. It looks more like an upper mid ranger when performing. And the price point is ridiculous.
I like Sony design and hardware. My first phone and smartphone was a SE. But lately if you look to the top of the smartphones 'food chain', Xperias are a big flop in everything else but design.

Samsung old models don't get ICS instead of SONY with their Xperia line and walkman, except Xperia Play. Their hardware price/quality is the best, specially in low and mid-range models. SONY has the best designs, not the old boring same designs like Samsung and HTC. Their Extras like headset pro and smartwatch are amazing. The downside must be their marketing strattegy, because they have everything to go forward and compete with samsung.

By saying family of Sony Xperia "X", X can be any letter or word Sony wants to name their phone.
Examples Sony Xperia U, Xperia P etc.

After 17 Nokia phones, I got my wife a Sony Xperia S. She loves it! I'm due a phone in January, and I'm hoping the SL will be an upgrade on the S!

I want to like Sony phones, but I can't. They all have the same look, but worst of all, the internals are mediocre. They seem to get the people who want anything with SONY written on it all excited, which is usually me, but nah, not with this lineup.
