Weekly poll: is the Poco X3 NFC great value for money?

13 September 2020
The first phone with a Snapdragon 732G chipset has a lot going for it at a price of €230. That said, it's only an incremental upgrade over the Poco X2.

hmm, 13 Sep 2020if i would need a phone now and have to choose a new one an... moreI will still choose poco

1. LCD age longer than amoled, and pretty sure that realme use cheaper amoled
2. Comunity support like root, gcam etc will be way better than any realme phone
3. 120hz not for gaming and it can be turned off anyway, definitely good for daily use (scrolling etc)
4. And cheaper

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2020killed sd865?? lolYoy don't understand, don't you? I am saying this phone has an better value for monet ratio than the Poco F2 Pro. Poco F2 Pro isn't the Real Poco Philosophy phone. Poco F1 and Poco X3 is. Just look at the Poco F2 Pro it offers worse price to value ratio than the Poco X3. Just ask someone about this.

5G capability is like 8K television: Could be relevant in 5 years to bring a small advantage, but in these days it‘s completely irrelevant and makes the overall device worse (shorter battery life for 5G, reducing the effective brightness for 8K)

This is way better than the Redmi Note 9 Pro and currently the best bang for the buck.

                Generally I believe YES.

The article doesn't take into account X3's wider availability. While it may be slighter upgrade compared to X2 on its usual market, X3 comes to new markets (global) where you hardly find competition for a price. At least in some regions of the world. Specks are chosen right, cons are minor, 4G is OK for a price-oriented phone like this. As for buying, personally looking for better phone but if a cheap phone for some time, after some more checking I would.

Honestly I need a little bit more real life information yet to make the final opinion, I hope GSMA review is at the door too. (right, team?)

if i would need a phone now and have to choose a new one and have two phones on a table .
                  1. poco x3 nfc
                  2. Realme 7 pro

I would go with realme 7 pro for the reason it is a bit smaller, has amoled screen and 65W charging even tough it has like 500mAh less battery. SD732 and SD720 difference isnt that much. And as i dont play games anyways i dont need this 120hz screen and it has no use for watching some video on a phone or browsing a net. While i hardly ever watch video on a phone. i mainly do watch when i need something and have no access to pc or my pc is not working and i am looking tutorials how to fix it. And i have no use for NFC as i dont want to link anything money related to my phone that will be a security risk

                    Great price
                    Great value
                    Great advertisement

Great phone. With 120hz looks like that have more faster soc. Only - is that have lcd, but can't expect that in this price point.

Daniel, 13 Sep 2020Why should I bother with changing roms ? This is stupid and... moreIf you find them useless then don't use them. Just stick to the camera that you find useful.
Other people may find uses for your 'useless' cameras.
As for ROM, it's an option ... having options is a good thing.

For example, I don't use Google pay. Doesn't that mean that I don't buy phones with NFC in them?

AnonD-923722, 13 Sep 2020This phone kills the Poco F2 Pro. Poco F2 Pro is an bad phone. Poco f2 pro have sd 865 and amoled screen. It's a great phone. But I prefer this one more, cause 120hz rly show the difference, even with that slower 732g.

Daniel, 13 Sep 2020After watching many reviews, I wouldn't buy this phone... moreI bought the Poco X2 and I think, similarly, this will have an option to turn off ads as well. On updates, the Pocophone sub-brand is actually good at it as my 2 year old Pocophone F1 still is getting updates and in timely manner, as is my Poco X2. My wife also had a Redmi S2, which is more than 2 years old, has recently had an update and is in line to receive MIUI 12 before the year ends, likewise her Mi 9T have had updates quickly. I briefly had the Blackshark 3 Pro recently and it too had 2 updates in 2 months that I was using it. So, I can say Xiaomi is actually good at updates, could be even the best among Android OEMs.

I have ordered the Poco X3 on the 9th and is yet to be delivered, so I'll update this comment once I get it.

Daniel, 13 Sep 2020After watching many reviews, I wouldn't buy this phone... moreSo you're saying having 2 'useless' cameras is not as good as having no extra cameras?
:-) I am happy with 2 'useless' extra rather than non at all.
As for ads, disable them ... or better still install custom ROM on the device.

I would really like to know who voted "the are better phones out there for the money" and what phones are they talking about.

After watching many reviews, I wouldn't buy this phone anymore. The 2 cameras that have 2MP are basically useless, it would have been better to not put them at all. The OS is full of trash commercials, even when you uninstall apps and Xiaomi and updates don't go well at all. I know that many will bash my comment, saying it's only 249 euros bla, bla, bla but even so, I rather add a bit more and buy something else. You pay cheap, you get cheap. And at the end of the day, it's just my opinion and nothing more.
