Counterfeit vs Knock-off

http://www.apreponderanceoffashion.com/fashion-law-feature/knock-off-v-counterfeit-fashion-law-post/

Technically any phone not a iPhone is a knock-off!

I've never used a magnetic jack, but heard that LG are using them with the DualScrren accessory. I guess you have to look at the latency, bandwidth, how are those going with the magnetic jack? For audio it doesn't have to lose quality and so on. But I think nothing hard to implement, nor to realize something like this.

[deleted post]If they are illegal Apple could just sue them, that would be the logical solution... There is just a number of designs fitting into a human ear, the rubber tipped ones are terrible and may fall out the support thing on the side is there to keep it from falling out also! Have you tried one with rubber + no support thingy? I did it was a BRAGI and was falling out all the time...

annoying customer, 15 Sep 2020It’s 100% percent OnePlus fault that it like Apple clone. I... moreActually in the eyes of the law even if they were 100% alike, as long as they are not sold as "Apple Air Pods" with the Apple logo clearly trying to trick the consumer it is actually not illegal... :I

Knock Off = Normally near or better than original. (with legit brand logo)
Counterfeit = Normally low quality crap that may explode... (imposter of legit logo)

Lol, they are most distinctive looking ones and actually sounds even better than 2nd gen airpods at 3 times less price.

so there are no packaging boxes and nothing was written on these packaging boxes when US Customs seize them?

KondriX, 15 Sep 2020Mm, what kind of magnetic jack connector? Something like th... moreThe first kind, because using an adapter by itself isn't that much of an issue, mainly if properly done, like my fictional concept phone where the USB and Jack magnetic adapters are part of the stylet/pen, meaning you don't have to "carry it around" as it is inside the phone :
                  https://imgur.com/gallery/ykYfaa6
                  https://i.imgur.com/z3zyt2P.png

The issue with USB-Jack dongles is that they aren't that good, they are often quite cheap, fragile and they aren't even universal, as from one brand to the other, they aren't compatible because of the various DAC implementations.

A magnetic connector for Jack (independent of the USB one) would get all pros of Jackless and Jack :
*Still able to connect directly the cable without any difference in use, quality or any other aspects and maintain the same compatibility for any Jack (audio or not) devices.
*Doesn't take any additional internal space as those connector are flat and can be directly integrated into the phone body like the Antenna that lies flat on the surface and inside a small board is enough.
*It is quite cheap as it is only 4 conductive rings and a really simple electronic board.
*Same for the the adapter itself is not any different than say, a 3.5mm Jack to 2.5mm Jack adapter except that on the other end rather than a male 2.5mm Jack you have conductive rings and inside the adapter you have a neodymium magnet, so it is quite cheap to make.
*You loose the issues of water, dust and other type of ingresses.
*You loose the issue of damages on the port caused by bending the cable.
*You gain the native possibility from various adapters to have all 4 main Jack sized (2.5mm, 3.5mm, 4.4mm and 6.35mm) and any other potential analog connector that can be compatible.

There is literally no reasons to not do such thing, it is way better than removing the Jack and the better option than just putting the Jack back, as by itself it is better than the typical regular Jack on almost every points, only downside being the adapter requirement, which is why some smartphones must keep the regular Jack.

                            Dear US customs,

Just part of the trade war, no?

How much dumb does one have to be to not be able to differentiate between these buds and the Apple ones. I mean he could've compared them. BTW Amazon sells exact replicas of Buds for $50. How do they not seize them?

Huawei and OPPO may be freaked out. Lol
