No plus: OnePlus 8T is getting the vanilla S865 chipset, OnePlus Watch and power bank certified

14 September 2020
Details on 8T's clock speed show that the prime core tops out at 2.84 GHz - not 3.09 GHz as on the S865+.

Cosmo, 15 Sep 2020OP3T here, still waiting for a phone like Nexus 6 but more ... moreI loved my op3t capacitive buttons, headphone socket, flat screen. Till I smashed said screen then needed an upgrade so went for the 7pro, which I love but it's a bit too big, the curved screen gets tapped far too often

Still using OnePlus One... some time ago I decided not to be a part of the consumerism... and I've waited.
I had big hopes for Nord, but in my opinion OnePlus failed to deliver. Some years ago they lost their way of making budget flagship "killer" devices and jumped on the 'premium' bandwagon.
Now i'm waiting for Google to realize they made something successful some years ago called Nexus.

Long ago, Oneplus make phones for the people. Now, with all the support and money from the people, Oneplus make phones for themselves.. to line their pockets with money only.

No point buying if OnePlus don't fix their displays.
Most of their recent devices (7T, 8, 8 Pro and Nord) have had issues with discoloration, color burn and black shift. Even for AMOLED panels, these problems are particularly persistent with OnePlus. They must be buying junk panels from Samsung or their QC is crap. Maybe both.

The sold called "flagship killer" (a.k.a midrange with SD8xx) all failed to sell compared to flagships, no matter the brand. They will never sell as well as Huawei P/Mate or Galaxy S series despite costing half.

OP7 was first decent phone from the brand. All previous were junk.
Phone with mono audio, cheap screen worse than galaxy midranges, no IP, no sd slot , bad photos and even worse video recording.

Nord exists for ppl that want new phone (not everyone wants phone from previous year, no matter if it is better) but do not care about most powerful cpu. This is why they will bring devices with SD6xx and 4xx ... 765G is bit stronger than 835. More than enough for 99%.

For "flagship killer" (that kills nothing) , many cuts are required.
Compared Realme X50 Pro Player against OP8 Pro and Find X2 Pro to see how weaker it is.

Lmaoo! What a worthless upgrade, save your money folks. This is why T variants should stop.

Oneplus is now an failed company. They get too confident and hyped over their sucess for the last couole of years. That hype made them forget about building an great budget phone. Even though the, Oneplus Nord, Oneplus 8 and Oneplus 8 Pro is great, they all lack something respectively.

                                        Oneplus Nord lacks
                                        1. Flagship killer status as previous Oneplus phones
                                        2. Flagship chip
                                        3. Good Build quality
                                        4. Good, not amazing camera
                                        5. Microsd
                                        6. Headphone jack

Oneplus can't make an flagship killer anymore, since that will destroy the sales of their flagship

                                        Oneplus 8 lacks :
                                        1. An Flagship Killer price below $600
                                        2. An Telephoto camera
                                        3. A Good camera even though it is expensive
                                        4. Wireless Charging (cmon, it is $700!)
                                        5. IP rating

With the Oneplus 8, Oneplus sacrified too many features to make people buy the Oneplus 8 Pro. Oneplus 8 is left overshadowed. Like i said, they can't make an flagship killer anymore, since they don't wanna kill their flagship.

                                        Oneplus 8 Pro lacks :
                                        1. An amazing camera (it is behind S10, P30, Pixels, Iphones, Huaweis, Samsungs, even Xiaomis)
                                        2. An good nighttime camera
                                        3. Screen quality even though Oneplus brags so much about its colour accuracy, there is an visible purple and green tint at dim light
                                        4. Telephoto camera outputs not so great results
                                        5. No 4k video on front camera
                                        6. Photo quality not consistent (sometimes good, sometimes overprocessed, sometimes bad)
