Anonymous, 16 Sep 2020> take notch as an extension of the display, not intrusi... moreThat's not how that works. If there was no notch, you'd have a strip of status bar within the rectangular display showing battery and signal status, actually eating away display real estate. Pick one.

glass half full/half empty, there's literally no difference. There's a cutout where there should be screen but there isn't. That's all that matters.

sixtymes, 16 Sep 2020I am still shocked apple still has a notch on their phones,... moreI mean, take notch as an extension of the display, not intrusion into it... You're getting those extra corners for signal and battery, it's not taking away your display real estate... Used to hate the notch, now I just don't care after living with it for a year and a half. Frankly, I think Apple is just waiting till we perfect the under display front facing camera. Then they'll move to that. Coz realistically, that's the only real way to go. And knowing Apple, they won't settle with solution like ZTE provided where you can see a slight difference in pixels where the camera is. It's innovative, but not a solid solution. And further knowing Apple, they don't do whacky solutions, they either do it fully and properly or they don't do it at all. Some hate that, some consider it as a good way of improving products. It depends. I don't necessarily take it as bad decision. So, I can't wait for a notchless display on iPhone, but I'm not gonna complain over one on my XR. Will probably hold on to it till Apple does the under display thing anyways.

I wish ECG and heart related monitoring would already get certified in my country. It's taking so bloody long. Owning Apple Watch 5 and not having ECG and heart related warnings is like owning a car that doesn't have coolant temperature and oil level warnings on dashboard. It's critical to know the health of the engine, but it's just not displayed. That's how having ECG capable watch feels like. It's there, but I could have my heart stopped or hiccuping like mad and I wouldn't know a difference, other than dropping dead and not being sure why. Most people don't associate chest pain with heart until it's often too late. But if it happens and watch also starts warning, you can instantly link the two and save yourself. This should really be a standard in any country to be allowed to have such functionality without absurd lengthy certification processes.

It is odd however that app is not free for Singapore residents if it's some sort of big scheme to make people healthier nation wide.
