Just because there's less bezel in the top sides, counts for squat, as that's not where the camera is housed..

              If I'm not mistaken, iPhone also doesn't pack a true front speaker? Which also reserves some of that vertical realestate, leaving you even less space to work with..

              Go buy an iPhone, Sony doesn't need you as their customer anyway -they have plenty of customers who can appreciate their fine craftsmanship and will thought out and optimized hardware use, which hardly anyone on the market does anymore. For example no one works hand in hand with Qualcomm to make the best user of the chips, everyone just buysa ton of ships and sprinkles them onto phones with other junk that might look good on the spec sheet..

But on the other hand it's useless when watching contents and movie that capped at 24 and 60fps, that's when 4K is needed. 120Hz will come to Xperia 1 II in the future update too. And just you wait, the X1 III next year will still having 4K screen. Sony has been making 4K phone since 2015, you think if it didn't sell they would sill making it??

                      The next 1 iii will have the sane 4K screen.

                          On a compressed video call you hardly care for quality, but taking a photo is another topic.
                          I do not do selfies of my mug so I do not mind.
