[deleted post]They were first to release sure. But only by catching onto what samsung was doing and rush to beat them.
Everyone knows samsung is the one that put the most time and money into the tech.

Hmmm nice. But still I'll go with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. It's eally more like a "PHONE" when folded and a small "TABLET" when unfolded. But the only problem is the cover screen...If the next iteration of it will have 21:9 aspect ratio instead of 25:9 (Cover Screen). Then I think that's the way to make a foldable phone

Finally a usable aspect ratio; anything more square than 4:3 is useless. Why can't someone make a 16:9 unfolded device and let the outside display be whatever works out -prioritize media consumption on the larger screen you are actually paying to fit in your pocket.

They priced this just perfect, it's obviously not good as the fold 2 and Huawei foldable in certain aspects but they've undercut them so much it makes it a more intriguing device plus the the mechanism seems really interesting tii

They're still sticking with a rather low resolution that has a PPI of 308 PPI and given that it's OLED, it's going to be pixelated. Camera also won't be as good as Fold 2 or Mate XS. Still, at that price it surely undercuts both of them.

I'm not really in the market for a foldable but that's one hell of a device.
The size and aspect ratios are spot on, high resolution too.
And that price is a real bargain, Huawei are charging over £2000 for their similar device while Samsung persist with their not quite folding Fold, this looks like the real deal.

That's some extreme innovation
That cicada wing hinge is no joke
It's absolutely massive to prevent the crease like that
Man I wish my enthusiasm for this is shared amongst reviewers so they can put that engineering masterpiece through some rigorous testing

armak, 22 Sep 2020can't beleive they still exist after the first atrocity That is called "learning from the mistakes". Samsung could have done the same with the original Galaxy Fold, but they didn't.

IpsDisplay, 22 Sep 2020Yeah who would of thought that you could make mistakes,lea... morethat was not a mistake, they wanted to be the first company to release a foldable phone, hence that mostroucity was released, one must be dumb to spend this much money on such a company

Sams, 22 Sep 2020The first useable fold.
They nailed the aspect ratio.&quo... moreYup, I'm with you. When it's unfolded, it's pretty much the same as using an Apple iPad. When it's folded, it's like using all those pre-2018 smartphones with the industry-standard 16:9 screen before odd aspect ratio craze started.
I may not well be a fan of outward-folding foldable screen smartphones because of concerns regarding reliability when it gets dropped, but I think that I might eye this more than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2.

Maybe we should just give up when we make mistakes instead.

They nailed the aspect ratio.&quo... moreFully agree. Tired of seeing those absurd ultrawide screens that are all show & serve no practical purpose.
This phone has a decent design & good specs. The company may be unknown at this point, but a successful product could quickly change that. For the moment, they deserve applaud for fixing most of the issues of their first foldable device.
