I have Xiaomi Redmi note 7 and I'll never go back to apple. In general, apple stopped innovating and just kept making slight feature additions. In addition, they force users to buy new phones by making them run slower after a year or so. I never encountered this with mi Xiaomi. Xiaomi watched everybody else, taking notes on what they did right and what they did wrong. Essentially conducting the type of research that Toyota did when launching the Lexus brand. Mark my words, Apple is finished in the cell phone market if they don't restructure and do what Xiaomi did. Look at Lexus. Now they build the benchmark of excellence in luxury cars. That's Xiaomi in a few years. Those who don't innovate eventually become exhaust fumes of the industry they once dominated.

They LCDs so if this one too then HRR at pricepoint likely. And it's Q3 '20 should be there, at least 90Hz. No problem with X3 (4G at €200+) or Mi 10 Lite (AMOLED). Xiaomi teased "5G value" so hopefully pack him well might be a good midranger. Keeping him secret for apparent reason (SD). (just wonder about Gauguin they were 2 in lineup... nevermind that tho)

What ever setting it starts with you stick with or change to what you like. Pretty simple. You could just have easy, advanced pro modes, that change the settings for you.

Anyhoo if they put 60Hz on it it's garbage.

Ok, enough garbage about mid range chipsets with the low range video cameras these days. The pixel 5 and so many others too. $1500+ extra sized foldable phones that are too big, worth $500. Do, they think they can sell more at these prices?
In the pro camera industry, most of the top end camera modes are what are known as garbage (to use a polite term). The phones themselves, if they were set up properly to handle data throughput again, could process at least bottom end pro video camera modes using the microprocessors. By sacrificing a little gpu space, that could be done on custom hardware in the gpu, a lot better. But it seems the chipset manufactures want to give ten times less performance.
So, what about it chipset manufactures?
Could you at least for one mid range chip with provideo core in chip? Then it doesn't matter if it doesn't have the high end processing spec in the gpu or CPU, as it will do most things needed. A company like greenarrays could even do the core of such an advanced chipset with 885 performance. Time to think beyond Arm.
In pro video, a minium pro spec, and high end consumer spec, is 12-16 bit+ for HDR conversion, 4:2:2/4:4:4/Raw, 12-16 stop minimum, data rates equivalent to 150-300mb/s 12 bit 4:2:2 8k at h266 data rates, or 37.5-75mb/s h266. h267 is less. Or something like Blackmagic Braw or ProRes raw, or cdng. External swapable card port and external hardware control interface (Bluetooth). General industry sectors need more accurate camera functions like these, which is millions of sales. Another company capable of delivering quality customised core cell for these, is ambarella, who delivers to much of the industry.
It's time to get away from the muddy murky compressed cell phone video with off colours and clipped shadows and non full manual controls. That is already ruined before the user even tries to touch it to brighter that wedding day shot.
