Samsung activates ECG monitoring on Galaxy Watch3 and Watch Active2 in the US

Samsung Health Monitor FORCES you to set up a PIN to use the APP which is rediculous. My ECG is not a matter of national security, nor will it grant access to my financial information. BAD JOB SAMSUNG. just keep doing crap like this to drive customers to other brands.

I received my Galaxy Active2 in the US in 2019. I currently live in the Caribbean (Barbados) and got the ECG update about two days ago, when the wearable app updated. Upon going through the apps on the watch is when I realized the ECG feature and it prompted me to download the Samsung Health Monitor, to which I did but when I try to "Accept", it keeps giving me the pop-up "Service is not available in your current location". DO BETTER!

When I was travelling with a friend in a foreign town a few years ago, we were using a laptop connected to his iphone's mobile hotspot. But overnight the update updated and next day we realized the hotspot feature was completely gone. We were totally shocked as we relied on that to use our laptop (there was no wifi where we stayed) so we couldn't use the laptop at all anymore. There was no warning this will happen with that update so don't be so nice to Apple, they both do wrong things.

What is not being mentioned is that it is only supported on Samsung Galaxy Phones. This was never mentioned as a requirement when the Watch was released last September in ads or documents. They sold a ton of watches to those of us without Samsung Galaxy phones. Now we are not getting the promised service's . I called Samsung and they are getting calls. The Lady I talked to said what Samsung did was wrong. And she works there. She agreed that that had never been a requirement initially. A year late in coming and now a lot don't get support and can't return it. I will probably end up selling it and getting the new Fitbit when out. In the meantime I filed a Better business complaint to their headquarters in Ridgefield Park NJ. For false advertising and deceitful business practices. Apple tells everyone up front. They didn't switch gears and drop a bomb.

I have already said, do not buy Tizen watches. The store is filled with watch faces only, and touchlight apps because that's what is available. Apps and functionality is minimum.
Either get wear os, else.. something that do not need charging for weeks, like the amazing fit mid tier cheap watches.

I hope they can fix the screen time out on this Galaxy Watch 3. Each time I look on the watch then move the watch away it Off the screen right away and there is no options to prolong the time. Unlike iWatch the screen off time really works well.
PLEASE FIX THIS SAMSUNG MAKE IT ADJUSTABLE. YOU FAILED ME ALREADY ON GALAXY S20 ULTRA TOO SLOW ON FOCUS and OVERHEATING NOW THIS GALAXY WATCH 3.

Samsung should allow ECG to work with any phone.
Y only samsung phones?
If so they should limit the watch to only samsung phone.
They advertise that it works with all android and even some of iOS devices as well.

Fingers crossed! In 2-3 years will be available in EU as well and I'll be able to use it on my Active 2. Maybe they will activate NFC payment for all countries, but that may take like 10 years, because Samsung Pay still doesn't work on the phone and it too is like a decade old. As I said, fingers crossed.

They never said you couldn't pair the watch with a non-samsung phone.
