So Apple just posted their third quarter numbers... and something very interesting based on the SG3 sales numbers... Samsung sells 10m Galaxy S3 (only one model) in about one month and Apple sells only 26m iPhones (at least three models combined - 3GS, 4, 4S) in three months??? No wonder Apple is so desperate to keep the competitors away with extreme legal tactics... It's "one" month for Samsung because except for Europe, which accounts for about or less than quarter of their sales, SG3 has been out in the US (which accounts for more than 60 percent of their sales), Asia, and rest of the world for less than a month. Even for Europe it's been out for less than 2 months.

and every galaxy s series price is more reasonable than all the iphone so i am very sure that apple will never beat samsung for mobile phones. all apple can do is put a stop to the sales of samsung through courts. what a shame!

John, 24 Jul 2012Actually, there is nothing to shout even if it hit 100 mill... moreha ha windows to take over.I feel your deluded and dreaming.Windows has never taken off and never will.People are not loving the boring 70s disco tiles and poor customisation. And as for the comments about plastic and cheap this is coming from someone who probably has a lcd tv or compute monitor, router, blu ray player,xbox,ps3 all made from plastic..Bet he dosent call them cheap. Also more powerful phones are wanted and quad is wanted too.I love multi tasking and video playback and the more cores for me the better.I think people who say that we dont need them.cant afford them.Easy save up and try before you buy. Also of you asked apple fans do they want quad i bet all of them say yes.

Human beings are greedy. All the sheeps all flock to bigger spec. When bigger screen phones came, all go there; when bigger megapixel camera, all buy; when higher CPU, similarly, all go and queue.

                In the interest of customers.
Technology is really changing very fast example:- Mobile phones with quad core cpus. Who is really wanted them, customers or mobile maker companies. Even my 5 year old computer has single core cpu and just 1 gb ram and it handles all tasks smoothly with windows 7. I don't know why mobile phones need so much power like quad core etc. Is this a planned strategy of mobile companies to urge customers to purchase their new costly phones with high features? whether they use them or not. Even quad core laptops are not common in the market until now. Do mobiles really need so much processing power? Think about it.

Actually, there is nothing to shout even if it hit 100 million units. Whatever go up will come down. No companies product stay top forever (with except of MS Windows which will be the majority forever)

BTW, it should be noted that GS III did not go on sale until few weeks ago in the US and Asia, which makes up accounts for more than 70 percent of their customer base. Even in Europe, it's been less than two months since it was available widely. So their sales figure is less than 1 month worldwide unlike a quarter (3 months) for their competitors... That's a very impressive figure...

On a side note... getting sick and tired of people saying something is cheap or cheap looking because it's made of "plastic"... Please know the fact before you say something that ignorant... Not all plastics are created equally. In case you didn't know, all modern cars and planes, especially the premium ones are made from sophisticated plastic-like material, not "glass" and aluminum... Except for that "glossy" bling bling look, advanced plastic is better in most practical aspects.

No matter what the underlying "technology" is, at the end, it's nothing but a "cool" gimmick and annoyance to other people if used in public (like cellphones), except for very limited use-cases.
