8K related technologies (The broadcast tech, display, camera, supporting transmission infrastructure, etc) is almost here, at least for select markets. We just need a significant TV market to kick-start it.

He said Samsung Display might sell the panel to other manufacturers. Not the tech.
And if you already didn't know then know that
Samsung/LG are already selling their panels to other manufacturers.
Samsung even sells their QLED panel to Sony.
Samsung TV division just think it's not ready yet to use in 2021. Also when this tech was adopted everyone already thought it won't come before 2022.
Samsung display might have done it early and Samsung TV division doesn't think it's perfectly ready yet. As they have their time they can skip it for 1 year if they thing it's not that much improvement.
So, Samsung display just wants to sell some panels to other brands to earn early money. There's nothing new about that. They've been doing it since many years. That doesn't mean Samsung won't adopt QD OLED.
I bet we will see a Samsung QD OLED TV at CES 2021.
Anyway the channel you referred is great for big display test. Keep watching them. You'll learn many things.

Best Bang for buck is void once the color / picture reproduction is not on par with your visual ( personal eye ) requirements which further solidifies the term to mean getting the best available product on the market for a incredibly low price that's hard to pass up on.
Example is getting a flagship smartphone worth 1000+ for only 1 dollar, euro, yen etc...

LG's OLED is inferior to what exactly since nothing comes close to its performance level at this current date and time until MICROLED finally makes a consumer appearance?
To make it clear I'm not bashing LCD as LCD is good tech and my monitor is a LG IPS LCD itself and I like it very much but truth is told that this tech has been superseded and that's a fact.
